Rarity is a proxy for power, not a strict ranking. A Mythical pet whose ability fits your farm can outperform a higher-rarity pet whose ability doesn't — read the ability description on each card rather than trusting the tier label alone.

Pets, rarities, abilities, and egg sources on this page come from our sourced pet database (cross-checked against the Grow a Garden Fandom wiki). We don't publish pet-specific % bonuses, cooldown timers, or egg costs on this page because those drift between patches. For current numbers, check the in-game pet inventory or the Fandom wiki.

How the groups work
Tiers are a straight mapping of the in-game rarity tag on each pet — not an editorial ranking. Rarity tends to correlate with ability impact because the developers gate stronger abilities behind rarer eggs, but the correlation isn't perfect. Always read the ability text.

Why we don't re-rank inside a rarity
Any "which Mythical is best" ranking depends on your current farm — what crops you're growing, which mutations you already have, and how many pet slots you can spare. Publishing a single intra-rarity ranking would mislead readers whose setup doesn't match ours.
Instead, every pet card shows the ability text straight from the pet database. Pick the pet whose ability solves a gap in your current rotation, not the one that sits highest on someone else's chart.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this tier list ranked?
Pets are grouped by their in-game rarity tag (Prismatic, Divine, Mythical, Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon, Common). Rarity is a strong proxy for ability impact but not a perfect one — a Mythical pet whose ability fits your setup can outperform a Divine pet whose ability doesn’t. Read the ability description on each card rather than relying on the tier label alone.
Which pets are Prismatic?
Per the in-game pet list, the current Prismatic pets include Kitsune (Zen Egg), Corrupted Kitsune (Kitsune Chest), and Headless Horseman (Halloween event). The Prismatic pool shifts when new events or eggs are added — always cross-check against the Grow a Garden Fandom wiki before trading.
Are event pets worth chasing?
Depends on the ability, not the rarity label. Queen Bee (Divine, Bee Egg) refreshes pet cooldowns; Headless Horseman (Prismatic, Halloween) applies rare mutations. Both are strong because their abilities stack with existing pet teams. A high-rarity event pet whose ability duplicates something you already have is less valuable than a lower-rarity pet that fills a gap.
Should I prioritise hatching higher-rarity eggs?
Only if you can sustain the cost. Lower-rarity eggs give steady pet inventory to cover watering, mutation, and growth-speed roles, while a single high-rarity egg can leave you with a strong pet but no support. Build a balanced team first; chase Prismatic and Divine rolls once your baseline farm is running.

The Grow a Garden Fandom wiki (growagarden.fandom.com) tracks current ability descriptions, egg sources, and cooldowns. The in-game pet inventory and egg vendor UI are the authoritative source for any numeric value (cooldown timers, egg costs, hatch rates) — those drift between patches, so we don’t quote them here.
