Murderer Perk System

Equip perks to gain tactical advantages. Meta perks can make or break competitive play.

Haste

Meta

Increases movement speed (sprint)

Considered the "Meta" perk for aggressive play; allows the Murderer to close distance faster than victims can run.

Sleight

Meta

Increases throw speed and reload speed

Critical for competitive 1v1s; reduces the window of vulnerability after a missed throw.

X-Ray

Meta

Highlights players through walls (orange glow)

Counters stealth/hiding strategies; heavily used on large maps like Research Facility.

Footsteps

Situational

Reveals footprints of recent player movement

Essential for tracking "campers" hiding in obscure map locations.

Ninja

Situational

Silences the knife slash and throw sounds

Effective in chaotic public lobbies where audio cues are vital for Sheriff awareness.

Ghost

Situational

Grants invisibility when standing still

Used for ambushes in high-traffic choke points.

Fake Gun

Niche

Displays a gun model instead of a knife

Psychological warfare; tricks the Sheriff into hesitating.

Trap

Niche

Places a deployable trap

Area denial; slows or marks players who step on it.

Sprint

Situational

50% movement speed boost for 3 seconds (cooldown-based)

Burst mobility perk added May 2020; excellent for closing gaps or escaping. Great for chasing down isolated targets.

Decoy

Situational

Spawns 3 duplicate clones using Q key

Added Thanksgiving 2025; creates confusion by spawning AI clones that mimic your appearance. Forces the Sheriff to guess which is the real Murderer.

Weapon Rarity Tiers

MM2's weapon economy revolves around rarity tiers. Higher tiers command higher trade value.

Trading Economy

The MM2 community uses "Seers" as the primary valuation system for weapons. Originally established through community consensus and refined over years of trading, Seer values are updated regularly by community value lists. Values fluctuate based on demand, supply, and seasonal events. A Seer is worth approximately 1,000 in-game coins.

Demand Tiers

S-Tier Demand (Eternal Items)

Extremely rare items with limited availability. Eternal series (Eternal I, II, III, IV) commands highest prices.

A-Tier Demand (Classic Godlys)

Highly sought items like Chroma, Prism, and OG exclusive weapons. Stable value, consistent demand.

B-Tier Demand (Mid-Tier Godlys)

Standard godly weapons with moderate demand. Prices fluctuate based on aesthetics and gameplay meta.

C-Tier Demand (Legendaries)

Rare and uncommon weapons. Value primarily driven by collectibility rather than gameplay.

Common Scams to Avoid

Fake Chroma Trading

Always verify weapon rarity by checking the item in trading interface. Look for special "Chroma" label.

Overpay Trap

Check current market values on Supreme Values or MM2Values before any trade.

Duplicate Item Claims

Only trust value information from official value lists. Avoid trading based on duping rumors.

Smurf Account Trading

Check account stats, playtime, and rep before major trades with unfamiliar users.

The Great Duping Crisis of 2019

A catastrophic exploit allowed players to duplicate rare items, including chromas and ancient weapons. The duping glitch flooded the market with infinite copies of valuable items, crashing the trading economy and destroying the value of countless weapons. Many players lost billions in worth overnight.

Resolution: Nikilis patched the exploit and implemented enhanced anti-cheat systems. However, duped items remained in the game permanently. The community implemented "duped" labels for affected weapons, but market recovery took months. This incident fundamentally changed how the community approaches value verification and trust.

Crafting & Unboxing

MM2's crafting system allows players to combine existing weapons to create new ones. Players salvage unwanted weapons for materials and use those materials plus a sacrificial weapon to craft new items. Crafting follows specific recipes with rarity tiers determining crafting difficulty and success rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become good at MM2?

Practice aim in 1v1 arenas, watch professional players, learn map layouts, and understand role mechanics. Study trading values to build your collection without getting scammed. Watch YouTube guides for specific techniques.

Is MM2 pay-to-win?

No. The game is not pay-to-win in terms of gameplay - cosmetics don't provide mechanical advantages. However, the trading economy is heavily pay-based because trading rare weapons requires spending Robux on unboxing.

What are the best weapons?

Competitively, weapon choice depends on playstyle. Aesthetically, Eternal series and Chroma variants are most valued. For new players, focus on learning fundamentals with starter weapons before investing in rare cosmetics.

How do I avoid getting scammed?

Always verify values on Supreme Values before trading. Use official middlemen for major trades. Never accept trades that seem too good to be true. Check player reputation and account history.

What's the difference between godly and ancient weapons?

Ancient weapons are significantly rarer than godly weapons (~0.02% vs ~0.2% drop rate). Mechanically identical, but ancient items are pure status symbols with premium value in trading markets.
