Grow a Garden Legendary, Mythical & Divine Pets Guide

Pets in Grow a Garden are sorted by rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythical, Divine, and Prismatic. This guide lists every pet at the three highest non-Prismatic rarities with its exact in-game ability and how you obtain it. Abilities are copied from the current pet tooltips; numbers come from the game's displayed cooldowns and percentages.

Last verified: April 20, 2026. Sources: Pocket Tactics pet roster. Abilities in Grow a Garden change with updates—check in-game tooltips before trading.

How Pet Abilities Work

Each pet has one passive ability that triggers on a cooldown. Abilities fall into a few buckets: growth boost (speeds up plants), mutation application (adds value-multiplying mutations), fruit duplication (chance to double harvests), seed return (chance to refund seeds), cooldown refresh (advances other pets' cooldowns), and niche utility (sprinkler uptime, hunger, XP).

A pet's level and weight scale some ability effects but do not change the cooldown. Higher-rarity pets tend to have more impactful abilities, not necessarily faster cooldowns—Disco Bee (Divine) fires every 20 minutes, while Sea Otter (Legendary) fires every 30 seconds. Rarity and cooldown are independent.

Picking a Pet: What Actually Matters

For raw crop throughput: look for growth-speed (Cow, Caterpillar, Sea Otter) or duplication (Giant Ant, Red Giant Ant) abilities. A 10% duplicate chance on every harvest compounds faster than a single slow mutation.

For value-per-fruit: mutation-applying pets (Dragonfly, Disco Bee, Space Squirrel, Scarlet Macaw) are how you push individual fruit into 50x+ multiplier ranges. Stack these with environmental mutations (Wet, Chilled, Shocked) from the mutations guide.

For economy efficiency: seed-return pets (Snail, Squirrel, Silver Monkey refund) reduce how often you need to buy or grind for seeds—especially valuable for expensive event crops.

Cooldown reducers (Peacock, Queen Bee, Chimera) effectively multiply every other pet in the area. One Queen Bee refreshing a Disco Bee is worth more than a second Disco Bee by itself.

Pet Fusion Basics

You can combine three pets of the same kind, each at least level 50, to receive a fused pet with stronger stats. This is the only verified pet-merging mechanic. There is no multi-tier catalyst crafting system, and there are no "prismatic fusion" or "ethereal evolution" mechanics—if a guide or video claims otherwise, treat it as fabricated.

FAQ

What's the rarest pet in Grow a Garden?

Prismatic is the highest rarity. Kitsune (Zen Egg), Corrupted Kitsune (Kitsune Chest), and Headless Horseman (event) are the confirmed Prismatic pets at time of writing.

Can a Legendary pet become Mythical?

No. Rarity is fixed at hatching. Fusion combines three of the same pet at level 50+ for a fused version—it does not upgrade rarity tier.

Which Legendary is best for a new player?

Cow is the most broadly useful because its 1.12x growth aura works on every plant type and never has a bad moment. Caterpillar is better if you specialize in leafy crops, Sea Otter if you want constant watering without sprinklers.

Do pet abilities stack?

Yes, but most stack additively (two growth-speed pets don't multiply with each other, they sum). Mutation-chance pets each roll independently on their own cooldown, which functions like parallel chances rather than a shared pool.

Where do I get Divine pets?

No egg consistently hatches Divine. Divine rates are low inside Bug, Bee, Anti-Bee, Fall, Paradise, Safari, and Mythical eggs. Some Divine pets (Lion, Bearded Dragon, Chimera) are merchant- or event-gated and can't be hatched at all.
