Blox Fruits Balance Patch 001: Every Buff, Every Nerf, and the New PvP Meta After the Largest Balance Update Ever (August 11, 2026)

The 2026 Summer Balance Update landed on August 6 and it is officially the largest single balance patch in Blox Fruits history — 39 targets touched across Fruits, Fighting Styles, Swords, Guns, Races, and core Instinct mechanics. Empyrean Kitsune and normal Kitsune both got hit with matching nerfs (Z tap no longer breaks Instinct, X channels on hit). Dark, Dough, Spider, Ghost, Werewolf, Tiger, Sand, Ice, Flame, Fiend, Yeti and Quake all got buffed — some of them massively. Ghost summoned allies can now mirror sword abilities. Pain Last Stand was completely redesigned. Sharkman Karate C now grants temporary health. Instinct dodges regenerate 25 percent faster. Venom Bow got its 1-second Instinct-immune stun. Gun M1s got Aim Assist. This is the full patch-note breakdown, cited straight to the developers own Balance Log, plus the honest post-patch meta read — what to level right now, what to shelve, and where the tier list is actually about to move.

Last Verified: August 11, 2026. Every change below is copied directly from the official Blox Fruits Balance Log published by developer Gamer Robot on August 6, 2026 — titled "The Summer PvP Patch Notes — Balance Patch 001." Cross-checked against the official Blox Bulletin digest and against individual fruit pages on the Blox Fruits Fandom wiki. No fabricated numbers, no invented tier moves. Anything that is not in the patch notes is labeled as meta interpretation, not a patch fact.

Blox Fruits just shipped the largest balance patch in the game's history. On August 6, 2026, the development team published "The Summer PvP Patch Notes — Balance Patch 001," the front half of the long-teased Summer Update, and the numbers are not close to any previous patch. 39 balance targets across Fruits, Fighting Styles, Swords, Guns, Races, and core Instinct mechanics. More than 100 individual changes. The intro line from the devs themselves calls it "the largest balance patch we have ever shipped."

This is not the leaked/rumored patch. This is the shipped one. Below is every change, cited to the source, plus the honest read on what actually shifted in the meta — because the two things you need to know right now are which fruits gained real power and which fruits just got taken down a peg. Both lists are longer than expected.

TL;DR — The Meta Shift in One Screen

  • Patch shipped: August 6, 2026. Officially Balance Patch 001, the PvP half of the Summer Update. Sourced straight to the Balance Log.
  • Scope: 39 balance targets. More than 100 individual changes. Six categories touched: Fruits (23 entries), Fighting Styles (3), Swords (6), Guns (3), Races (2), Systems (2).
  • Biggest nerfs: Empyrean Kitsune and Kitsune both took matching hits — Z tap no longer breaks Instinct, X now channels on hit locking the user in animation, C end-lag increased by 0.3 seconds. This is a coordinated PvP nerf to the entire Kitsune line.
  • Biggest buffs: Dark got a full awakened kit reroll (Z no longer self-stuns, X now breaks Instinct, C stun +50% on final hit, V cast time -25%). Spider Z gained +50% damage, +20% range, and +60% hitbox size. Dough got hitbox and stun buffs across the entire awakened kit.
  • Reworks: Ghost V summoned ghosts can now mirror sword abilities. Pain Last Stand was completely redesigned into an active kill-window mechanic. Sharkman Karate C now grants temporary health based on damage absorbed. Shark v4 got a shield rework scaling up to 60% max HP.
  • System-level: Instinct dodge regen dropped from 40 to 30 seconds — 25% faster dodges for everyone. Gun M1s now have Aim Assist across the board.
  • Nerfed sword to know: Yama X no longer breaks Instinct; only drains it while the target stays in the hitbox.
  • Race nerf to know: Ghoul v4 lifesteal cut from 27→20% (1 gear) and 37→30% (2 gear). Crows now drain Instinct instead of breaking it instantly.

What This Patch Is (and What It Is Not)

Two clarifications before the change list, because there is a lot of noise around this drop:

1. This is the PvP balance half of the Summer Update, not the full Summer Update. The developers stated in Blox Bulletin #024 (July 31) that the PvP balance patch lands before the Magnet fruit and the First Sea rebuild content. Balance Patch 001 dropped on August 6. The First Sea rebuild and the new Magnet-type fruit are still upcoming as of this writing — the wiki's Updates page still ends at Update 31.3, and there is no Magnet fruit page. For the pre-drop breakdown of the content half, see our Summer Update preview.

2. The devs told players to expect more changes. The intro from the Balance Log says explicitly: "Balance will continue to evolve after these changes go live. We may adjust values, mechanics, and interactions again after seeing the update live, reading your feedback, and finding problems that could not be fully uncovered during testing." Read: expect a Balance Patch 002 to hotfix whatever spikes on Discord first. Do not overcommit trade positions to the outliers below until the dust settles — we'll cover that in the trading section.

The Winners — Every Buffed Fruit

Fifteen fruits received net-positive changes. In rough order of "how much this shifts the fruit's ranking," here they are with every buff spelled out.

Dark (Awakened) — Buffed

  • Z: No longer self-stuns. Range increased 25%. Hitbox size increased 25%.
  • X: Now breaks Instinct. End-lag decreased 25%.
  • C: Hitbox size increased 15%. When fully held, stun duration on the final hit increased 50%.
  • V: Cast time decreased 25%. End-lag decreased 25%. Travel speed increased 20%.

Read: Dark went from a niche pick to a legitimate PvP main. The Z change alone (no self-stun) removes the fruit's single biggest historical liability — the moment where you flash and get punished for it. X breaking Instinct is a top-tier combo enabler.

Dough (Awakened) — Buffed

  • Z tap: Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • Z hold: Travel speed increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • X: On-hit end-lag decreased 20%. Hitbox size increased 20% on both variants.
  • C: Hitbox size increased 25%. Stun duration increased 40%.
  • V: Maximum hold duration increased from 3 to 4 seconds. Cast time decreased 20%.

Read: Dough was already top-tier and it got the treatment of a fruit the devs think is fine but under-picked. Every awakened move got a hitbox bump or a stun bump. Dough combos are now easier to land, harder to escape, and V has an extra second of hold time — a substantial mobility buff.

Spider (Awakened) — Buffed

  • Z: Damage increased 50%. Range increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 60%.
  • X: Hitbox size increased 30%. Stun duration increased 20%.

Read: This is the single biggest per-move buff in the entire patch. Spider Z with +50% damage, +20% range, and +60% hitbox is effectively a new ability. Expect Spider to sprint straight to the top of the "underrated PvP" conversation for the next two weeks until (probably) Patch 002 dials it back.

Ghost (Base) — Buffed and Reworked

  • Z: Cast time decreased 50%. Stun duration increased from 1 to 1.2 seconds.
  • X: Range increased 15%.
  • C: Knockback decreased 30%.
  • V (new): Summoned ghosts are receiving a major ability upgrade and can now mirror sword abilities.
  • F: Cast time decreased 50%.

Read: Ghost was already excellent for solo hunting. Two abilities got their cast time halved (Z and F), which is a massive quality-of-life change. The V rework — summoned ghosts mirroring sword abilities — is the kind of thing that reads simple on paper and turns out chaotic on the ground. If you main a strong PvP sword (Yama, True Triple Katana, Dragonheart), your ghosts now amplify it. That's a real build-defining change, not a stat tweak.

Werewolf (Transformed and Blazing Form) — Buffed

Transformed:

  • Passive (new): Lifesteal — heals for 3% of all damage dealt.
  • Z: Final-hit damage increased 30%. Hitbox size increased 5%.
  • X: Wind-up decreased 20%. Hitbox size increased 10%.
  • C tap: Travel speed increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 10%.
  • C hold: Cast time decreased to 0.75 seconds. Hitbox size increased 10%.
  • F: Can now be dodged with Instinct. Cooldown decreased 15%. Travel speed increased 10%.

Blazing Form:

  • Passive (new): Lifesteal — heals for 3% of all damage dealt.
  • V (new): Heals for 30% of maximum health when initially infected with rabies.
  • Z: Knockback decreased 30%.
  • X: Travel speed increased 20%.
  • C: Damage increased 20%. Travel speed increased 15%. Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • F: Wind-up decreased 30%.

Read: Werewolf is arguably the largest kit overhaul in the whole patch. A brand-new 3% lifesteal passive across both forms plus a 30% max-HP heal on Blazing Form entry is a real survivability buff, not a cosmetic one. Werewolf mains just got the fruit they wanted at launch.

Tiger (Transformed and Blazing Form) — Buffed

Transformed:

  • X: Wind-up decreased 20%. Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • C tap: Travel speed increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 10%.
  • C hold: Cast time decreased to 0.75 seconds. Range increased.
  • F: Can now be dodged with Instinct. Travel speed increased 10%.

Blazing Form:

  • V (new): Heals for 30% of maximum health upon entering Blazing Form.
  • Z: Damage increased 30%.
  • X: Travel speed increased 50%.
  • C: Damage increased 10%. Travel speed increased 15%. Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • F: Now breaks Instinct. Wind-up decreased 30%.

Read: Tiger got the parallel Werewolf treatment. Blazing Form F now breaking Instinct is the tell — the devs want Tiger's transformed form used more.

Quake (Awakened) — Buffed

  • Z: Damage increased 20%. End-lag decreased 70%.
  • X: Damage increased 40%. Wind-up decreased 30%. End-lag decreased 30%.
  • C: Damage increased 40%. Wind-up decreased 30%. End-lag decreased 30%.
  • V: Damage increased 20%.

Read: Quake was one of the fruits the community has been asking for a rework on for years — the theme was strong, the numbers weren't. This is not a rework, but the damage and end-lag numbers together (70% off Z end-lag is enormous) mean Quake stops being a "throw the fruit if you get it" pick.

Sand (Awakened) — Buffed

  • X: On-hit end-lag decreased 40%.
  • C: End-lag decreased 60%. Hitbox size increased 25%.
  • V: Vortex strength increased 100% — pulling enemies twice as hard toward the center. Cast time decreased 50%.
  • F: Flight speed increased 25%.

Read: The V change is the one to circle. Doubling the vortex pull means enemies who would have escaped last patch now get sucked back in for the follow-up. Combined with the C hitbox buff, Sand's crowd-control ceiling just climbed.

Ice (Awakened) — Buffed

  • X: Now breaks Instinct. Hitbox size increased 25%.
  • C: Travel speed increased 60%.
  • V: Now usable in the air.

Read: V being air-usable removes a major limitation for aerial fights. X breaking Instinct is a big deal — that is what turns Ice from a "grind-mode" pick into an actual PvP combo starter.

Flame (Awakened) — Buffed

  • X: Travel speed increased 40%.
  • V: Cast time decreased 30%. Travel speed increased 30%.
  • F: Cooldown decreased 20%.

Fiend (Transformed) — Buffed

  • Z tap: Wind-up decreased 20%. Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • Z hold: Cast time decreased to 0.75 seconds.
  • X hold: Cast time decreased 20%. Range increased. Hitbox size increased 25%.
  • C: End-lag decreased 60%.
  • F: Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • ALL: All damage increased 17%.

Read: A flat 17% damage bump across the entire kit plus specific hitbox and cast-time gains — the closest thing in the patch to a pure "we want this fruit used more" buff.

Eagle (Base) — Buffed

  • Z: End-lag decreased 20%.
  • C: Wind-up decreased 45%. Travel speed increased 25%.
  • V: Hitbox size increased 20%. Stun duration increased 30%.
  • F: Flight speed increased 30%.
  • Flight: Meter drain increased while flying with a gun or sword equipped.

Read: The last line is a soft nerf to gun-fly builds specifically, but the overall kit gained substantially.

Gas (Transformed) — Buffed

  • Z: Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • C: Damage increased 30%. Charging time reduced 30%.

Mammoth — Buffed

  • Base ALL: All damage increased 10%.
  • Transformed DASH: Dash distance increased 10%.

Yeti (Transformed) — Buffed

  • F: Hitbox size increased 10%.
  • ALL: All damage increased 10%.

Phoenix (Awakened Transformed) — Buffed

  • M1: Damage increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 20%. Explosion hitbox size increased 20%.
  • Z: Damage increased 15%.
  • X: Energy cost decreased 40%.

Dragon (Hybrid) — Buffed

  • Hybrid X: Now breaks Instinct. Hitbox size increased 20%.

Read: A one-line change that reads huge on the ground. Dragon Hybrid X breaking Instinct restores the combo route Dragon mains have been asking about since the last balance pass.

The Losers — Every Nerfed Fruit

Empyrean Kitsune (Untransformed) — Nerfed

  • Z tap: No longer breaks Instinct.
  • Z hold: Damage decreased 30%.
  • X: Now channels on hit — the user cannot cast another ability before the animation completes.
  • C: End-lag increased 0.3 seconds.

Read: Empyrean has been the dominant Bounty/Honor hunting fruit for months — the wiki's Empyrean page literally describes it as "one of the most abusable Blox Fruits in-game." The devs targeted the exact abuse windows: the Z-tap Instinct break (gone), the Z-hold burst damage (down 30%), and the X animation-cancel option (removed). This is a surgical nerf, not a broad one.

Kitsune (Untransformed) — Nerfed

  • Z tap: No longer breaks Instinct. Now Instinct-trickable.
  • X: Now channels on hit — the user cannot cast another ability before the animation completes.
  • C: End-lag increased 0.3 seconds.

Read: The normal Kitsune nerf mirrors the Empyrean nerf almost exactly — Z tap Instinct break removed, X now channels, C end-lag +0.3s. The devs treated Kitsune and Empyrean as one problem.

Lightning (Base) — Nerfed

  • V tap: Hitbox size decreased 10%.
  • V hold: Hitbox size gained from charging decreased 25%.

Ghoul v4 (Race) — Nerfed

  • 1 gear lifesteal: 27% → 20%.
  • 2 gear lifesteal: 37% → 30%.
  • Crows: Now drain Instinct instead of breaking it instantly.
  • Damage: Crow damage decreased 10%.

Read: The community's most complained-about race just got hit hard. Losing 7 percentage points of lifesteal at both gear tiers is a real durability cut. The crow Instinct change is arguably bigger — instant-break was Ghoul v4's PvP crutch.

Sanguine (Fighting Style) — Nerfed

  • C: Range decreased 15%. Hitbox size decreased 10%.

Dragonheart (Sword) — Nerfed

  • Z: Instinct drain decreased 50% for the initial hits.

Yama (Sword) — Nerfed

  • X: No longer breaks Instinct. Only drains Instinct while the target remains in the hitbox.

Read: Yama X was a fixture of every top PvP loadout because of the Instinct break. Removing it changes the entire combo language of Yama builds — the sword is not dead, but it stops being an automatic pick.

Skull Guitar (Gun) — Nerfed

  • Fix: Movement bug abuse mitigated.
  • X: Hitbox size decreased 15%.

The Adjusted — Reworks That Cut Both Ways

Control — Adjusted

Outside Domain:

  • X: Cooldown increased 4 seconds. Hitbox size decreased 10%.
  • C: Cooldown increased 4 seconds.
  • F: End-lag increased 0.25 seconds when hitting an enemy.

Dagger Mode:

  • M1: Damage increased 350%. Cooldown increased 250%.
  • X: End-lag increased 0.25 seconds. Range decreased 10%. Hitbox size decreased 10%.
  • C: End-lag increased 0.5 seconds. Range decreased 10%. Hitbox size decreased 20%.

Read: Net-negative in Outside Domain form (+cooldowns, -hitboxes). Net-mixed in Dagger Mode (huge damage buff but with a cooldown penalty and hitbox cuts). Dagger builds now have a genuinely high-damage M1 but with less spam potential.

Diamond (Base) — Adjusted

  • M1: No longer breaks Instinct. Cooldown decreased 20%.
  • C: Added a 1-second stun.
  • ALL: All damage decreased 10%.

Pain (Last Stand) — Reworked

  • Passive rewrite: Last Stand keeps the user in combat while active. Health resets to maximum and drains throughout the final stand duration, and healing is disabled. Defeating another player during this window deactivates Last Stand and resets the meter to 0. NPC eliminations do not count.

Read: This is a full mechanic overhaul, not a number tweak. Old Pain Last Stand was passive survivability — you got hit low, you got a buffed period. New Last Stand is an active go-and-get-a-kill-or-die window: max HP on activation but health drains, healing disabled, and only a real-player kill resets it. This changes Pain from a defensive pick into an aggressive one, and it means Pain mains have to close a fight during Last Stand or lose. Massive playstyle shift.

Fighting Styles — Death Step, Sharkman Karate, Sanguine

Death Step — Buffed

  • Z: Range increased 50%. Hitbox size increased 50%.
  • X: Range increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 20%.
  • C: Damage over time increased 20%. End-lag decreased from 0.25 seconds to 0.1 seconds. Hitbox size increased 15%.
  • V: Cooldown decreased 50%. Duration decreased 50%.

Read: Death Step went from a niche pick to a real Fighting Style contender. Z with +50% range and +50% hitbox is effectively a new opener.

Sharkman Karate — Reworked

  • X: No longer launches the opponent into the air. Orb speed increased 25%.
  • C (rework): Now grants temporary health based on damage absorbed. No longer Instinct-trickable. The hold can no longer be cancelled by incoming damage. Damage reduction while holding increased. Maximum hold time is now 1.5 seconds.

Read: Sharkman Karate got the closest thing to a functional identity change in the patch. C is no longer just damage reduction — it now generates temp HP from what it absorbs. Combined with the un-cancellable hold and the removed Instinct trick, C becomes a real defensive counter tool.

Sanguine — Nerfed

Covered above under Losers. Small nerf; not enough to move Sanguine off the top of the ranked Fighting Style list.

Swords — Pole V2, Dark Blade, Twin Hooks, Yama, Dragonheart, TTK

Pole V2 — Buffed

  • Z: Hitbox size increased 35%.
  • X: End-lag decreased from 0.3 seconds to 0.15 seconds. Range increased 20%. Hitbox size increased 20%.

Dark Blade — Buffed

  • Z: Hold charge speed increased 10%. End-lag decreased 30%. Range increased 10%. Hitbox size increased 10%.

Twin Hooks — Buffed

  • Z: Enemy landing location is now more predictable.

Read: Twin Hooks Z was chaotic to combo off in the previous patch because the landing location was RNG. Predictable landings mean the sword now slots cleanly into combo chains.

True Triple Katana — Adjusted

  • X: End-lag increased 0.5 seconds. Travel speed increased 25%.

Yama — Nerfed

Covered above. The X Instinct-break removal is the story.

Dragonheart — Nerfed

Covered above. Half the Instinct drain on the initial hits.

Guns — Venom Bow, Kabucha, Skull Guitar (and Aim Assist)

Venom Bow — Buffed

  • Z: Range increased 15%.
  • X: Now applies a 1-second stun even when Instinct-dodged.

Read: The X change is the big one. Venom Bow X now applies its 1-second stun even when Instinct-dodged. That is one of the strongest anti-Instinct interactions in the game — and it lands on a gun, not a fruit ability. Venom Bow just became a mandatory secondary consideration for any anti-Kitsune loadout.

Kabucha — Buffed

  • Z: Now applies a 0.5-second stun instead of a knockup.
  • X: End-lag decreased from 0.4 seconds to 0.2 seconds.

Skull Guitar — Nerfed

Bug fix (movement abuse) plus X hitbox down 15%. Skull Guitar remains playable but loses one of its known abuse routes.

Races — Ghoul v4 Nerf, Shark v4 Rework

Ghoul v4 — Nerfed

Covered above. Lifesteal down 7 points at each gear tier; crows drain Instinct instead of breaking it; crow damage -10%.

Shark v4 — Adjusted (Reworked)

V3:

  • Cooldown: Increased 15%.
  • Duration: Increased from 4.5 to 5 seconds.

V4:

  • Shield: Upgraded shield now scales up to 60% of maximum HP.
  • Damage: Enemies hit by the whirlpool have their damage decreased 20%.

Read: Shark v4's shield scaling to 60% of max HP is huge. Combined with the whirlpool's new 20% damage debuff on enemies hit, Shark v4 becomes a real durability race — the anti-Ghoul-v4 pick.

Systems — Instinct Dodges and Gun M1 Aim Assist

Instinct (Core Mechanic) — Buffed

  • Dodge regeneration: Time decreased from 40 seconds to 30 seconds, allowing Instinct dodges to replenish 25% faster.

Read: This is the single most important change in the patch and it is easy to miss because it's system-level. Faster Instinct regen means every fight has more counter-play windows. It disproportionately helps fruits that were losing to combo lockdowns and disproportionately hurts fruits that relied on catching people between dodges (like the old Kitsune Z-tap).

Gun M1s — Buffed

  • M1: All Gun M1 attacks now have Aim Assist.

Read: A blanket usability buff for every gun in the game. Gun mains — especially controller and mobile players — just got a real quality-of-life bump.

The New PvP Meta — What to Level Right Now

The tier list is going to move over the next two weeks as players actually test the changed numbers. Here is the honest read on where the meta looks headed as of five days into the patch — call it early meta, not settled meta.

Fruits worth grinding mastery on today:

  • Dark — Awakened Dark went from meme pick to real PvP main. All four abilities got real quality changes.
  • Spider — Z with +50%/+20%/+60% (damage/range/hitbox) is going to break some servers before Patch 002 clips it.
  • Dough — Was already strong. Now easier to land combos on. Safe long-term pick.
  • Werewolf — Full kit rework with lifesteal passive and 30% HP heal on Blazing Form entry. Best sleeper of the patch.
  • Ghost — Halved cast times and the sword-mirroring V rework. Combines especially well with buffed swords like Pole V2 and Dark Blade.
  • Quake — The end-lag numbers finally caught up with the theme. Genuine PvP viability.
  • Sand — V vortex strength doubled is a real crowd-control ceiling change.

Fruits to shelve until Patch 002:

  • Empyrean Kitsune — Still strong, still expensive, but no longer a mandatory pick. Wait to see whether the community adapts or the devs re-tune.
  • Kitsune — Same story, lower stakes.
  • Yama users — Not the fruit, but the Yama-based loadout. The X change kills the combo route most Yama builds relied on.

Loadouts worth trying this week (early meta):

  • Buffed Ghost + Pole V2 + Sharkman Karate: Ghost V mirrors Pole V2 abilities, Pole V2 X end-lag halved, Sharkman C generates temp HP.
  • Awakened Dark + Dark Blade + Death Step: Every element buffed in this patch. Dark X breaks Instinct as a combo opener, Dark Blade Z end-lag down 30%, Death Step Z with +50% range.
  • Shark v4 + Awakened Spider + Venom Bow: New durability race, absurd Z damage, gun that stuns through Instinct.

Our Blox Fruits tier list will be re-ranked from live PvP data once the community has two weeks with the new numbers. Pre-patch tier lists are worthless the moment a "largest ever" patch ships.

Trading After the Patch — Where Values Move

Value shifts after a major balance patch are predictable in shape, unpredictable in magnitude. The rules that hold:

  • Buffed fruits with clear meta gain trend up, but the market usually overshoots. Dark, Spider, and Werewolf are the strongest candidates for a demand spike this week. If you already own one, resist the urge to sell into the initial hype window.
  • Nerfed fruits trend down, but not as fast as buffs trend up. Empyrean was so entrenched at the top of the value chart that even with a surgical PvP nerf, its raid utility is unchanged — the drop will be softer than the hype suggests.
  • Reworked mechanics create bigger swings than pure buffs. Ghost with sword-mirroring, Pain with the Last Stand rewrite, and Sharkman Karate's C rework are the three items where the "true value" won't be clear for two weeks.
  • Do not lock in trades based on Balance Patch 001 alone. The devs said explicitly they will re-tune after seeing the update live. Balance Patch 002 is coming. Trade positions taken this week are gambling on a snapshot the devs already promised to change.

FAQ

When did Blox Fruits Balance Patch 001 come out?

Balance Patch 001 — officially titled "The Summer PvP Patch Notes — Balance Patch 001" — was published by Gamer Robot on August 6, 2026. It is the PvP balance half of the 2026 Summer Update and shipped ahead of the First Sea rebuild and the Magnet fruit content update.

What is the biggest Blox Fruits nerf in Balance Patch 001?

The matching Kitsune and Empyrean Kitsune nerfs are the biggest single storyline. Both fruits lost Z tap's Instinct break, had X converted into a channeled ability that locks the user in animation on hit, and gained 0.3 seconds of C end-lag. Ghoul v4 also took a hard hit — lifesteal cut from 27%/37% to 20%/30% at 1 and 2 gear, and crows now drain Instinct instead of breaking it.

What is the biggest Blox Fruits buff in Balance Patch 001?

Spider Z is the single largest per-move buff: +50% damage, +20% range, and +60% hitbox size. Dark and Werewolf are the biggest full-kit buffs. Werewolf gained a 3% lifesteal passive on both Transformed and Blazing Form, plus a new V that heals 30% of max HP on Blazing Form entry. Dark's awakened kit lost the Z self-stun and picked up an X Instinct break, a C stun-duration buff on the final hit, and cast/travel-speed buffs on V.

Did Ghost's V really get changed?

Yes. Ghost's V now upgrades summoned ghosts so they can mirror sword abilities. Combined with Ghost Z and Ghost F both having their cast times halved, this is a full playstyle update for Ghost mains — especially when paired with buffed swords like Pole V2 or Dark Blade.

How did Pain's Last Stand change?

Last Stand was fully redesigned. It keeps the user in combat while active, resets health to maximum but drains it throughout the final stand duration, disables healing during the window, and only resets the meter to 0 if the user defeats another player during Last Stand. NPC eliminations no longer count. It is now an active kill-window mechanic instead of a passive survivability boost.

Is Kitsune still the best fruit for PvP after the patch?

Kitsune and Empyrean Kitsune are still strong fruits, but they are no longer the auto-pick they were before Balance Patch 001. The exact abuse windows the community relied on (Z tap Instinct break, X as an animation-cancel option) got surgically removed. Expect the tier list to reflect Kitsune dropping from S+ to S over the next two weeks as players test replacements — not a fall out of the top tier, but no longer a mandatory pick.

Do Instinct dodges really regenerate 25% faster now?

Yes. The Balance Log lists Instinct's dodge regeneration time as decreased from 40 seconds to 30 seconds. That is a system-level buff that touches every PvP fight in the game and disproportionately helps builds that were losing to combo lockdowns.

Is this the full Summer Update?

No. Balance Patch 001 is the PvP-balance portion of the Summer Update, shipped on August 6, 2026. The First Sea rebuild and the new Magnet-type Blox Fruit are still upcoming as of August 11 — the wiki's Updates page still ends at Update 31.3, and there is no Magnet fruit page yet. Bulletin #024 (July 31) confirmed the PvP patch would ship before the content update.

Should I trade my Kitsune before the value drops more?

Be cautious. The devs stated in the Balance Log that they may re-tune again after seeing the update live, which means Balance Patch 002 is likely. Panic-selling nerfed fruits during Patch 001's first two weeks is the most common trading mistake around a major balance shift — Empyrean in particular still keeps its raid utility even with the PvP nerf. Wait for the meta to settle before locking in a big value trade.
