Knockout! Beginner's Guide

Everything you need to know to start winning in Roblox's hilarious penguin brawler. From your first push to arena domination.

Getting Started

Knockout! is a penguin brawler by braxworks with 1.2B+ visits and explosive +250% growth. Up to 12 players spawn as penguins on slippery ice arenas and try to push each other off the edge. The last penguin standing wins. It sounds simple — but the ice physics, shrinking arena, and prediction-based combat create surprisingly deep gameplay.

This guide covers everything from your first match to consistently placing top 3. You'll learn the controls, understand every arena, know which power-ups matter, and pick up the strategies that separate beginners from skilled players.

Your First Steps

1

Join a Classic Battle Royale

Queue up for the default Classic mode. You'll spawn as a penguin on a frozen arena with 11 other players. The goal is simple: be the last penguin standing.

2

Learn the aim and power controls

Use your mouse to aim the direction of your push. Adjust your power level — start at around 50% for balanced knockback and control. Higher power pushes harder but is less precise.

3

Stay near the center

The arena shrinks over time, pushing everyone closer. Center positioning gives you the most recovery space if you get knocked. Avoid edges early — one good hit can eliminate you.

4

Grab power-ups when they spawn

Power-ups appear randomly across the arena. Pick them up by walking over them. Even a Common Speed Boost can save your life. Legendary power-ups like Super Slam are game-changers.

5

Predict, don't react

Don't aim where players ARE — aim where they're GOING. Players slide on ice, so lead your shots. Watch movement patterns and time your pushes for when opponents are near edges.

Essential Tips

1

Use 50% power for most attacks

The sweet spot between knockback force and control. Most winning players never go above 60% unless they have a guaranteed edge knockout.

2

Redeem ALL codes before playing

Free Ice and Spins from codes give you a head start on skins. Visit our codes page to grab every active code before your first match.

3

Lead your shots — aim ahead of movement

Players slide on ice. If someone is moving left, aim slightly left of them. Learning to predict movement patterns is the #1 skill in Knockout.

4

Track the arena shrink timer

Know which sections are about to collapse. Position yourself on stable ground BEFORE the shrink happens. Getting caught on collapsing ice is an instant elimination.

5

Don't engage early — let others fight

In Classic BR, you don't need to be aggressive at the start. Let other penguins knock each other out while you grab center position and power-ups.

6

Ice Shield is the best defensive power-up

If you pick up an Ice Shield, save it for when you're near an edge. It blocks one knockback attempt completely — that's often the difference between 1st and 2nd place.

7

Try Team Knockout to learn without pressure

6v6 team mode is more forgiving than solo BR. Your teammates cover mistakes, and you can observe how experienced players position and time their attacks.

8

Edge recovery — always push back toward center

If you get knocked near an edge, immediately aim and push yourself back toward the center. Don't panic-push toward another player — recover your position first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do first in Knockout?

Jump into a Classic Battle Royale match to learn the basics. Focus on aiming and controlling your push power — try using around 50% power for the best balance of force and control. Stay near the center of the arena where you have the most recovery space.

How does the knockback system work?

You aim with your mouse and set your push power, then launch a push in that direction. The ice physics mean both you and your target will slide. Higher power = more knockback but less control. Most pros use 50% power for optimal balance.

What are the best arenas for beginners?

Frozen Tundra is the best starting arena — it has wide open space, minimal obstacles, and a symmetrical design. Snowball Arena (Medium difficulty) is good once you understand the basics. Avoid Crystal Palace and Aurora Peak until you have more experience.

How do power-ups work?

Power-ups spawn randomly across the arena during matches. Walk over them to pick them up. They range from Speed Boost (Common) to Super Slam (Legendary). Use them strategically — a well-timed Freeze Ray or Power Punch can decide a match.

How do I get skins and cosmetics?

Skins come from hatching eggs purchased with Ice (in-game currency) earned by winning matches. Eggs range from Starter (Common skins) to Mythical (Legendary skins). Event eggs offer limited-time exclusive skins. All skins are cosmetic only — no gameplay advantage.

What game modes should beginners play?

Start with Classic Battle Royale to learn core mechanics. Once comfortable, try Team Knockout (6v6) for a more forgiving team-based experience. Save Survival Mode and King of the Hill for when you have mastered the basics.

How do I earn Ice (currency) fast?

Win matches and place in the top 3 for maximum Ice rewards. Redeem all active codes for free Ice. Play consistently to build up your earnings. Deathmatch Arena is good for fast games and steady Ice income.
