The King of the Seed event is live. Grow a Garden dropped its March 21, 2026 weekly update, and this one's different — it's the game's first full PvP minigame. Compete against other players on a platform, knock them off with your shovel, and the last one standing wins a Divine-rarity seed from the Seed Shop.
There's also a new Rainbow Shovel Pack in the shop (399 Robux) that gives you a permanent advantage both in and outside the event. Here's everything you need to know to dominate.

How King of the Seed Works
King of the Seed is a PvP minigame that runs on a repeating schedule:
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Round Duration | 5 minutes |
| Frequency | Every 15 minutes |
| Objective | Stay on top of the platform the longest |
| Winner | Player with the most time on top at the end of 5 minutes |
| Event Duration | 1 week (ends ~March 28) |
How Rounds Play Out
- A 5-minute round begins every 15 minutes
- Players climb a platform and try to reach the top
- A timer above your head counts how long you've been standing on the top platform
- Use your Shovel to hit other players — hitting them sends them somersaulting off the platform, resetting their timer
- The player with the most accumulated time on top at the end of 5 minutes wins
- The winner receives a random seed from the Seed Shop
This is pure PvP chaos. Positioning, timing your shovel swings, and dodging other players' attacks are the keys to winning.
Rewards: Divine Seeds
The winner of each King of the Seed round receives a random seed from the Seed Shop, and these can roll Divine rarity:
| Confirmed Drops | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Grape | Divine |
| Coconut | Divine |
| Burning Bud | Rare+ |
| Beanstalk | Rare+ |
| Random Seed Shop seeds | Varies |
Players in the official Grow a Garden Discord have reported pulling Divine-rarity Grapes and Coconuts, along with rarer seeds like Burning Bud and Beanstalk. The seed pool appears to be the full Seed Shop inventory with a boosted chance at high-rarity drops.
This is one of the best ways to farm Divine seeds for free — no Sheckles required, just PvP skill (or a private server).
Rainbow Shovel Pack Breakdown
The Rainbow Shovel Pack is a new shop item available for 399 Robux or 399 Trade Tokens. It's only available for 7 days (until ~March 28), but the items inside are permanent.
| Item | Effect |
|---|---|
| Rainbow Coil | Massive jump height boost + speed boost. Described as "Jump + Speed Boost OP" in the shop |
| Rainbow Shovel | Hit any player anywhere on the map and send them flying. Works outside the event platform |
Why the Rainbow Shovel Is Worth It
The standard shovel only works on the King of the Seed event platform. The Rainbow Shovel breaks that restriction — you can hit players anywhere in the entire map, sending them flying.
Inside the event:
- Standard Shovel — Only works on the platform, limited range
- Rainbow Shovel — Works everywhere, can hit players before they even reach the platform
Outside the event:
- The Rainbow Shovel is purely for fun trolling in the overworld — launch other players across the map
The Rainbow Coil stacks with the Shovel for a devastating combo: jump high above the platform, then rain down shovel attacks from above. The speed boost also helps you reposition faster after getting knocked off.
Winning Strategies
For Competitive Play (Public Servers)
- Position at the center — The center of the platform gives you the most time to react to incoming players
- Watch your timer — You don't need to be on top the entire time, just longer than everyone else. Play smart, not aggressive
- Use the Shovel defensively — Wait for players to approach, then knock them off. Chasing players wastes your platform time
- Jump to dodge — A well-timed jump can dodge a shovel swing. Combine with the Rainbow Coil for massive vertical dodges
- Don't fall off — Obvious, but recovery time from falling is your biggest time loss. Stay near the center
For Rainbow Shovel Users
- Use the Rainbow Coil to reach the top of the platform faster than anyone
- Camp the top and use the Rainbow Shovel's extended range to hit players while they're still climbing
- The speed boost lets you reposition instantly after knockback
Private Server Farming
If you just want the rewards without PvP competition:
- Load a private server (you need Roblox Premium or a private server pass)
- Start the King of the Seed round
- Stand in the center of the platform for the full 5 minutes — with no competitors, you win automatically
- Collect your free Divine seed
- Wait 10 minutes, repeat
This is the most efficient way to farm Divine seeds during the event. You can earn 4 Divine seeds per hour with zero competition.
FAQ
How long does the King of the Seed event last?
One week, starting March 21, 2026. It should end around March 28.
Can I get Divine seeds without the Rainbow Shovel?
Absolutely. The Rainbow Shovel gives you an advantage in PvP, but the rewards are the same for all winners. Use private servers for guaranteed wins without any Robux.
Is the Rainbow Shovel permanent?
Yes. Both the Rainbow Coil and Rainbow Shovel stay in your inventory permanently after purchase, even after the event ends.
What seeds can I win?
Any seed from the Seed Shop, including Divine-rarity seeds like Grape and Coconut. The pool appears to be the full shop inventory.
Does the event run 24/7?
Yes. Rounds start every 15 minutes, running continuously throughout the event week.
Can I use the Rainbow Shovel outside the event?
Yes — the Rainbow Shovel works anywhere on the map and sends players flying. The standard shovel only works on the event platform.
