How the Apex Hunt Works

The Dreadfin Apex Hunt spawns randomly every 2.5 hours across all servers. Here's how it plays out:

Watch for the notification — A message appears at the top of your screen: "A Dreadfin has appeared near [location]"

No fixed location — The Dreadfin can spawn anywhere on the map, but common spots include Northern Expedition, Scoria Reach, and Grand Reef

Global population — Only 2,000 Dreadfin exist across all servers combined. Once they're caught, the hunt ends until the next spawn

Not server-locked — The Dreadfin won't spawn in the same spot for every server, so you need to move fast when the notification drops
