Scoria Reach has 5 heat zone levels, each with increasing temperature. Spending time in higher zones fills an overheat timer. If the timer maxes out, you take damage and are knocked back. Use one of the 8 cooling stations scattered across the island to reset your temperature. Higher heat zones contain rarer and more valuable fish. The Volcanic Rod provides heat resistance, letting you stay longer in extreme zones.

The Skeletal Leviathan is a 3-phase boss fight in Scoria Reach. Phase 1: dodge bone projectiles while fishing its minions. Phase 2: the Leviathan surfaces and you must reel specific weak points. Phase 3: full combat with lava eruptions. Rewards include the Skeletal Leviathan Fry (Secret rarity fish) and rare ores. The Logical Pity System guarantees the Fry drop after 15 kills if you have not received it.

The Logical Pity System, introduced in the Scoria Reach update, guarantees rare drops after a set number of attempts. For example, the Skeletal Leviathan Fry is guaranteed after 15 boss kills, and rare ore drops from Crag-Crab mining have their own pity counters.
