Garden Horizons Mutations Guide
Garden Horizons mutations are visual and statistical enhancements applied to plants. Per the Fandom wiki there are 23 known mutations across four categories: variant (Gold 5x, Silver 2x), weather (Soaked 1.2x through Starstruck 6.5x), fusion (Mossy, Frostbit, Muddy), and limited/admin-only (Meteoric 10x, Party 11.5x, Ancient 7.5x). Mutations stack multiplicatively — a Starstruck (6.5x) + Shocked (4.5x) crop multiplies its base value by 29.25x.
The signature mechanic of Garden Horizons. Master mutations to transform your garden into a profit machine.
How Mutations Work
The Basics
Mutations are special properties applied to plants when they are planted during specific weather conditions. Each weather type in Garden Horizons corresponds to a unique mutation with its own multiplier.
Timeline:
- 1. Weather event occurs
- 2. You plant a seed during that weather
- 3. The plant receives the mutation permanently
- 4. All harvests of that plant apply the multiplier
Weather Changes Every 5 Minutes
The weather cycle repeats every 5 minutes. Strategic players memorize the schedule and plant high-value seeds during rare/high-multiplier weather events.
Mutation Permanence
Once a plant receives a mutation, that mutation persists through all harvests. A Potato with Meteoric mutation will always give 10x value until you harvest it.
Mutation Stacking Explained
How Stacking Works
Multiple mutations can apply to the same plant. The Fandom wiki documents the formula as: Total Price = Base Price × Total Variant Multiplier × Total Mutation Multiplier × (Weight ÷ Base Weight)².
Fandom Example — Corn at base weight:
Base Price: 15 Shillings
Mutations: Lush (3x) + Gold (5x) + Tidal (2x)
Calculation: 15 × 8 × 2 = 240 Shillings
Per the wiki: base × (variant multipliers summed in this example as 3 + 5 = 8) × mutation multipliers. Multiplicative stacking — not additive across categories.
Maximum Stack (per Fandom)
Documented maximum: Gold, Lush, Mossy, Muddy, Frostbit, Chilled, Foggy, Soaked, Starstruck and Shocked
Combined mutation multiplier: 30.15x (or 150.75x with the Gold variant).

Weather Event → Mutation Mapping
Per the Garden Horizons Fandom wiki, each weather event has a chance to mutate one of your plants with the linked mutation. Exact cycle timings are not documented on the wiki, so plan around the active weather rather than a fixed clock.
Fusion mutations are obtained by combining specific weather mutations: Mossy (Foggy + Chilled, 3.5x), Frostbit (Soaked + Snowy, 3.5x), and Muddy (Sandy + Flooded, 5x). Combining consumes the component mutations.
Mutually exclusive: Soaked and Flooded cannot coexist; Snowy and Chilled cannot coexist.
Best Mutation Combos
According to the Fandom wiki, the maximum stackable set is Gold, Lush, Mossy, Muddy, Frostbit, Chilled, Foggy, Soaked, Starstruck and Shocked — totalling a 30.15x mutation multiplier (150.75x when the Gold variant multiplier is included). Note: many of these mutations are mutually exclusive in practice; fusions consume their components.

Mutation Farming Strategy
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Identify Target Crops
Pick crops with the highest base price you can afford. Per the Fandom formula, every mutation multiplier scales off that base price.
2. Learn the Weather → Mutation Map
Memorize the chart above. Rain → Soaked/Flooded, Snowstorm → Chilled/Snowy, Storm → Shocked, Starfall → Starstruck.
3. Leave Plants Unharvested During Weather
Weather mutations randomly target one of your plants when an event triggers. The more eligible plants you have planted, the better your odds.
4. Chase Storm and Starfall
Shocked (4.5x) and Starstruck (6.5x) are the highest weather mutations. Prioritize keeping crops alive through these events.
5. Plan Fusions
Stack Foggy + Chilled → Mossy (3.5x), Soaked + Snowy → Frostbit (3.5x), Sandy + Flooded → Muddy (5x). Fusions consume the component mutations.
6. Harvest at Lush
Per the wiki, Lush is the final ripening stage (3.0x). Combine Lush with strong mutations and high weight for the biggest sells.
Early Game Strategy
Plant cheap common crops in volume. Soaked (1.2x), Foggy (1.25x) and Chilled (1.5x) are common weather mutations — they will stack up across many harvests.
Mid Game Strategy
Move into uncommon and rare seeds. Plan Storm-aligned plantings to catch Shocked (4.5x). Start chaining fusion mutations (Mossy, Frostbit, Muddy) for persistent multipliers.
Late Game Strategy
Hunt Starfall events for Starstruck (6.5x). Variant Gold crops (5x) plus Starstruck plus Shocked is one of the highest reliably-stackable sets. Limited weathers (Meteor Shower → Meteoric 10x, DJ Kine → Party 11.5x) are only available during admin/holiday events.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are mutations applied?
Per the Fandom wiki, when a weather event triggers, it may randomly mutate one of your plants. Keeping more plants unharvested during an event improves your odds.
Which mutation is easiest to get?
Soaked (1.2x) from Rain and Foggy (1.25x) from Fog are the most common weather mutations.
Are mutations permanent on a plant?
Mutations applied during growth persist on the plant. Some fusion mutations (Mossy, Muddy, Frostbit) consume the component mutations when they form.
Can a plant get conflicting mutations?
No. Per the wiki: Soaked and Flooded cannot coexist; Snowy and Chilled cannot coexist; Frostbit consumes Soaked and Snowy; Muddy consumes Flooded and Sandy; Mossy consumes Foggy and Chilled.
What is the highest mutation multiplier?
Among standard mutations, Starstruck (6.5x) from Starfall is the top reliable weather mutation. Limited/admin-only events can grant Meteoric (10x), Ancient (7.5x) and Party (11.5x).
Do mutations work the same on every plant?
Yes — the wiki documents the price formula as Base Price × Total Variant Multiplier × Total Mutation Multiplier × (Weight ÷ Base Weight)², so the same mutation produces the same proportional bonus on any crop.
