What Is Grow a Garden 2?

Grow a Garden 2 is the standalone successor to Grow a Garden, built by the same developer group (Strawberreh Squad, owned by DevNamedDavid — the successor of The Garden Game group). The core loop is familiar: buy seeds when the shop restocks, plant them on your plot, harvest the produce, and sell it at the Sell Stand for Sheckles. Your garden even keeps growing while you're offline.

What changed is everything around that loop. Night now brings free crop-stealing between players, defensive plants and guard pets fight raiders for you, guilds compete in weekly harvest contests, and the rarity ladder gained a new top tier: Super. A Mailbox next to your plot lets you send and receive seeds, seed packs, and gears with other players.

How Night Stealing Works

Stealing is the headline mechanic — the day/night cycle decides when your crops are safe and when every unguarded garden on the server becomes a target.

Day
7 min 30 sec

Default weather — plant, water, and harvest in peace.

Sunset
30 sec

Transition warning — lock in your defense before dark.

Night
2 min

Stealing is live. Moon roll: Normal 77%, Gold 13%, Rainbow 6%, Blood 2%, Mega 2%.

Stealing, step by step

  • Wait for night — an unlocked icon appears over gardens open to theft
  • The owner must be away from their garden; occupied gardens are locked
  • Grab a crop and carry it back to your own garden to keep it
  • Teleport buttons are disabled while you carry stolen goods
  • Bamboo and Mushrooms take 3 seconds to steal; everything else is instant

If you get robbed

  • Hit the thief with your Shovel (free, given on join) to recover the stolen crop
  • Shovel hits also knock intruders out of your garden
  • Standing in your garden locks it — nothing can be stolen while you're home
  • Some nights swap stealing for an alternate event (mutation seeds, boosted crop chances) — thieves love the distraction

In the original Grow a Garden, stealing cost 37 Robux or 37 Tokens per steal — in the sequel it's free for everyone, which is why defense now matters as much as farming.

Defending Your Garden

You can't stand guard every night. These are the documented tools that fight for you while you're farming — or offline.

Dragon's Breath

SUPER

Shoots a strong beam of fire at nearby players at night. A multi-harvest crop, so it earns while it guards.

  • Seed Shop: 90,000,000 Sheckles (or 1,599 Robux)
  • Restock chance: 0.2% (1 in 500)
  • In the game since launch (June 12, 2026)

Venus Fly Trap

MYTHIC

Bites a raiding player at night — they lose roughly 75% of their health and drop a small amount of Sheckles. Also multi-harvest.

  • Seed Shop: 7,000,000 Sheckles (or 799 Robux)
  • Stock chance: 1.43%
  • In the game since launch (June 12, 2026)

Guard pets

The Bee swarms intruders, the Bear tackles, pins, and throws them out, and the guild-exclusive Ice Serpent freezes raiders solid.

The free Shovel

Every player gets one on join. Hit a thief to recover your stolen crop and knock them out of your garden. It also removes your own crops and placed gear (with a confirm pop-up).

Robux-only gear

The Freeze Ray (749 Robux) freezes a player mid-steal. The Flashbang (Epic, from 67 Robux) is a throwable distraction. Neither is required — plants and pets do the heavy lifting.

Guilds & Weekly Competitions

Guilds are the sequel's team layer — created at the Guild Stand run by the NPC Gilbert, in the center of the map next to the Sell Stand.

The basics

  • Creating a guild costs 99 Robux; joining via invite is free
  • Guilds start at 20 slots and expand in paid tiers up to 50 members (1,472 Robux total for every upgrade)
  • Three roles: Owner (full control), up to 5 Elders (can invite), and Members
  • Invites are accepted or declined at your Mailbox
  • Guild name changes have a 7-day cooldown; owners can't leave — only disband

Scoring & rewards

Weekly competitions are scored by the weight of harvested plants at 1 point per gram. When the cycle ends, rewards arrive by Mailbox based on leaderboard placement — top guilds earn the Black Dragon(a Super-rarity pet you can't buy), Rainbow Eggs, Rainbow and Gold Seeds, and Legendary Seed Packs.

CompetitionRotationObjective
Highest KgWeek 1Harvest the highest-kg fruit.
Cash CropWeek 2Sell your inventory for the largest amount of Sheckles.
Biggest CarrotWeek 3Harvest the heaviest carrot — Gold-mutated counts 2x, Rainbow-mutated 2.5x.

Crops & the New Super Rarity

Seven rarity tiers, topped by the sequel-exclusive Super tier. Crops decay (visibly desaturate) if neglected — water them or wait for Rain, which doubles growth speed and revives plants.

TierExample crops (Seed Shop pool)
CommonCarrot, Blueberry, Strawberry
UncommonApple, Tomato, Tulip
RareBamboo, Cactus, Corn, Pineapple, Horned Melon
EpicBanana, Grape, Green Bean, Mango, Glow Mushroom
LegendaryAcorn, Cherry, Dragon Fruit, Poison Ivy, Sunflower
MythicGhost Pepper, Poison Apple, Pomegranate, Venom Spitter, Venus Fly Trap
SuperDragon's Breath

Examples from the community wiki's crop table — new seeds keep arriving in updates (Venom Spitter came in v1.01.0, Hypno Bloom in v1.06.0, the Mega Seed in v1.05.0).

Mutations — One Per Crop

Unlike the original's stacking system, each crop carries exactly one mutation. Sell value = base price × size × mutation multiplier. Gold and Rainbow Seeds guarantee a mutation; weather events roll the rest.

MutationMultiplierHow to get it
Gold10xGold Seed, Goldmoon night, or random roll
Rainbow30xRainbow Seed, Rainbow weather, or random roll
Bloodlit60xBloodmoon night event
Ignited60xSunburst weather event
Starstruck50xStarfall weather event
Electric25xLightning strike during a Lightning Storm
Frozen14xSnowfall weather event
Aurora1.5xAurora weather event (added v1.01.0)

Multipliers come from the community wiki, which notes the game files and in-game testing occasionally disagree while the game is balanced — treat exact numbers as subject to change. Pets can boost your odds: the Unicorn doubles Rainbow chance and the Golden Dragonfly doubles Gold chance.

Every Documented Pet

Pets spawn around the map with a countdown timer — buy them with Sheckles before it hits zero. They also come from eggs (guild rewards) and player gifts. Variants roll on top: Big (1 in 50, 2x ability), Huge (1 in 1,000, 3x ability), and a separately-rolled Rainbow tier (1.25x ability — 0.5% from a Common Egg, 100% from a Rainbow Egg).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Grow a Garden 2?

Grow a Garden 2 is the official standalone sequel to Grow a Garden, released June 12, 2026 by Strawberreh Squad — the developer group behind the original game, owned by DevNamedDavid. You plant seeds, grow crops, and sell produce for Sheckles, but with one defining twist: when night falls, other players can steal crops straight out of your garden.

How does stealing work in Grow a Garden 2?

Stealing only happens at night (a 2-minute window in each day/night cycle). You can take crops from any garden whose owner is away — an unlocked icon appears over gardens open to theft. You must carry the stolen crop back to your own garden to keep it, and teleporting is disabled while you carry it. Bamboo and Mushrooms take 3 seconds to grab; everything else is instant.

Is stealing free in Grow a Garden 2?

Yes — stealing costs nothing. That is one of the biggest changes from the original Grow a Garden, where stealing required 37 Robux or 37 Tokens per steal.

How do I protect my garden from stealing?

Staying inside your garden locks it completely — nobody can steal while you're home. If you leave, defensive plants fight for you: Dragon's Breath fires a beam at nearby raiders and the Venus Fly Trap bites thieves for around 75% of their health plus a Sheckle penalty. Guard pets (Bee, Bear, Ice Serpent) attack intruders, and hitting a thief with your free Shovel knocks them out of your garden and recovers the stolen crop.

What is the Super rarity in Grow a Garden 2?

Super is the new top rarity tier, sitting above Mythic in the seven-tier ladder (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Super). Super items include the Dragon's Breath crop (90,000,000 Sheckles with a 0.2% shop restock chance) and three pets: Raccoon, Black Dragon, and Ice Serpent.

How do guilds work in Grow a Garden 2?

Guilds are created at the Guild Stand (run by the NPC Gilbert) for 99 Robux — joining via invite is free. Guilds hold up to 50 members and compete in weekly competitions scored by harvest weight at 1 point per gram. Leaderboard placement pays out exclusive rewards through your Mailbox, including the guild-exclusive Black Dragon pet.

Do mutations stack in Grow a Garden 2?

No — each crop carries exactly one mutation at a time, a major change from the original game's multiplicative stacking. A crop's sell value is its base price multiplied by its size and its single mutation multiplier. Among released mutations, Bloodlit and Ignited are the highest at 60x.

Does my progress from the original Grow a Garden carry over?

No. Grow a Garden 2 is a separate Roblox experience with its own place, economy, and code system — everyone starts fresh with a new plot. The original Grow a Garden is still online and playable.
