CORE PRINCIPLES

How FORSAKEN Plays

Universal mechanics that apply across every Killer and Survivor — taken from the FORSAKEN Wiki\'s main page.

Repair Objectives

Survivor

Always start the nearest objective. Hiding delays the loss; progress wins the round.

Team Spacing

Survivor

Spread out so the Killer cannot pressure everyone at once. Clustering causes chain downs.

Stamina Management

Both Roles

Survivors regenerate stamina at ~20/sec and lose it at ~10/sec while sprinting (per the FORSAKEN Wiki). Running it to zero locks you out of sprinting.

Pressure, Not Tunneling

Killer

Switch chases against strong loopers. Pressure across the map beats committing to one Survivor.

Limping Threshold

Both Roles

Survivors begin limping at 50% HP or less (most Killers have this disabled). One early hit shapes the rest of the chase.

Read Your Character

Both Roles

FORSAKEN does not use a shared loadout-style perk pool — every Killer and Survivor has unique abilities. Read your character's Fandom page before queueing.

Survivor Objectives

  • Complete generator objectives placed across the map.
  • Stay alive against the Killer until the round timer expires or you escape.
  • Coordinate with teammates and rescue downed survivors when it is safe.

Killer Objectives

  • Hunt and eliminate every Survivor before the round timer ends.
  • Disrupt Survivor objectives by pressuring multiple parts of the map.
  • Use your character's unique abilities — each Killer has its own toolkit.

Round Structure

Round structure summarized from the FORSAKEN Wiki main page. Seasonal events and limited-time modes appear regularly; check the wiki for the current event.

Standard Round

One Killer hunts a small group of Survivors within a timed round. Survivors complete objectives (generators) while trying to stay alive; the Killer aims to eliminate every Survivor before time expires.

Goal: Survivors: complete objectives and escape. Killer: eliminate all Survivors before the timer ends.

Strategy Basics

Survivor Tactics

Early Round

  • Spread out from teammates so the Killer cannot apply pressure to everyone at once.
  • Start working on the nearest objective immediately rather than hiding.
  • Learn each map's layout before worrying about advanced strategy — map knowledge is the single biggest skill gain.
  • Keep stamina in reserve for emergencies (stamina regenerates at roughly 20/sec and drains at roughly 10/sec for most survivors, per the FORSAKEN wiki).

Evading the Killer

  • Break line of sight at corners and props so the Killer has to re-acquire you.
  • Survivors begin limping when at 50% HP or less, so try not to take an early hit if you can avoid it.
  • Vault structures and use environmental obstacles to extend chases.
  • Don't sprint constantly — running out of stamina locks you out of sprinting for a short period.

Team Play

  • Don't cluster on a single objective unless you're intentionally rushing it.
  • If a teammate is being chased, work objectives rather than rushing to them — that's usually how the Killer baits a chain of downs.
  • Stagger objective completion across the map so the Killer can't patrol a single area.

Killer Tactics

Pressure

  • Apply early pressure by finding any survivor quickly — even a single hit forces them to limp at 50% HP.
  • Don't commit to a single chase against a strong looper; switch targets to keep pressure spread.
  • Patrol objective-dense areas rather than chasing across the map.

Map Awareness

  • Learn each map's objective spawns so you can intercept survivors mid-rotation.
  • Cut off escape routes rather than chasing directly — angle your movement to herd survivors toward dead zones.

Killer-Specific Strategy

  • Each Killer in FORSAKEN has unique abilities documented on the FORSAKEN Wiki — read your Killer's Fandom page before queueing.

General Tips

1.

Learn each map's objective spawns and chase routes — map knowledge beats raw skill in asymmetric horror.

2.

Stamina management is the difference between a long chase and a quick down.

3.

Listen for audio cues — footsteps, ability tells, and ambient sound carry critical information.

4.

Read your chosen character's Fandom page before queueing — each character has unique abilities.

5.

As a Survivor, the objective always beats the hide. Hiding only delays the loss.

6.

As a Killer, pressure beats commitment. Spread chases instead of tunneling one Survivor.

7.

Watch experienced players on YouTube and Twitch for matchup-specific knowledge that doesn't show up on the wiki.

Why These Survivor Strategies Actually Work

Most Forsaken survivor advice gets passed around as rules of thumb, but the strategies that actually keep you alive are rooted in concrete mechanical truths about how the killer interacts with the map. Here is the reasoning behind five of the most commonly repeated tips.

1. Generator Spreading

Split up and work generators on opposite ends of the map. The killer is a single agent who can only patrol one objective at a time, so every step they take toward your generator is a step away from someone else's. When all four survivors cluster on one gen, the killer makes a single trip and shuts down 100% of map progress; when gens are spread, the killer is forced into a constant choice penalty between collapsing on the closest gen and rotating to defend the next one about to pop.

2. Looping vs. Juking

Use corner loops around objects rather than running in straight lines. The geometry matters: a tight loop around a wall, rock, or shack forces the killer to take a longer arc than you do on the inside of the turn, gaining you distance every rotation. Running straight removes that geometry entirely and turns the chase into a pure speed contest, which the killer's footstep audio and movement profile are tuned to win.

3. Audio Listening Windows

Pause every few seconds on a generator to listen. Generator work generates noise that masks incoming footsteps and breathing cues. Brief listening windows let you catch directional audio before the killer is in lunge range, converting a guaranteed down into a chase you can actually start on your terms.

4. Last-Survivor Escape Priority

As the last survivor, hide and stealth out rather than gen-rushing. With teammates down, the killer has zero map pressure and can camp any remaining objective indefinitely. Stealth and exit-route patience beat raw progress because the math of one survivor versus a free-roaming killer on a remaining objective is brutal.

5. Solo Queue: Never Take the Chase For Someone Else

Do not body-block or bait chases when solo queueing. Without comms, you cannot coordinate trades, and a self-sacrifice play that would save a teammate in a 4-stack just hands the killer a free down in solo lobbies.

The unifying meta-strategy behind all five is creating choice fatigue for the killer. Every decision you force the killer to make, which gen to defend, which loop to commit to, which survivor to chase, is a micro-tax on their attention and tempo. Survivor teams do not win by outrunning the killer; they win by drowning the killer in decisions until one of those decisions is wrong.
