What Dive For Eggs is
Dive For Eggs is made by BloxGuidesGG, the team behind this site, so this is the developers' own guide rather than a review. It's an ocean collecting game: swim down through 5 depth zones, carry eggs back to your aquarium, and hatch them into fish that earn coins every second. Up to 6 players share a server, each with their own aquarium.
The game is in open beta, which means it's playable start to finish but early: there is no trading and no sound yet. Who can join right now: Roblox opens brand-new games only to players 16 and older who have completed its age check, so younger players can join once the game meets Roblox's requirements for younger audiences.
How to play
- Dive. Jump in and swim down. Your oxygen runs out faster the deeper you go. If it hits zero you black out, wake up at your aquarium and lose the eggs you were carrying.
- Grab eggs. Swim them back up to your aquarium. Your Egg Bag decides how many you can carry at once.
- Hatch. Eggs hatch in your nests in a few seconds to two minutes, depending on how rare the fish is. Your very first fish is always a Pufferfish.
- Earn. Every fish earns coins each second, even while you're offline (at half rate, for up to an hour).
- Upgrade. Spend coins at the Dive Shop to stay down longer, swim faster and carry more, then push one zone deeper.
A dive buddy within 25 studs makes your oxygen drain 30% slower, and each friend in your server adds +10% coins (up to +30%). An ocean event starts every 10 minutes; Golden Current doubles everyone's coins.
The 5 zones and their guardians
Each zone has 7 fish and one Big Egg in a nest, guarded by a sleeping creature. Take the egg and the guardian wakes up and chases you; swim above its zone and out of reach to keep it. The sign over each nest gives the Fins speed that outswims it. A Big Egg always hatches a Big or bigger fish from one zone deeper.

Eggs, sizes and colors
Every egg in the ocean is plain, spotted or a glassy gem egg, and each zone names its own (Shallows Egg, Coral Egg, Pearl Egg in the Sunlit Shallows). Rarer eggs hatch rarer fish: the share below is how often the zone's rarest fish comes out of each kind.

Any egg can hatch a bigger fish. A guarded Big Egg never hatches a normal-size one.

Three fish exactly alike fuse into one fish a size bigger and a color shinier at the Fusion Stand. Giant and Rainbow fish are as good as it gets. A fish sells to Fishmonger Gill for 10 seconds of its income.

Once a run reaches The Abyss and earns enough coins (100 billion the first time), you can rebirth for Pearls. Coins, upgrades and your aquarium reset; your Index, Pearls and perks carry over. Pearls buy permanent perks:

Is Dive For Eggs free?
Yes. It's free to play on Roblox. Anything sold in the game is optional and has a fixed, known result: no loot boxes, and eggs only come from diving.

How do I escape a guardian?
Swim up and out of its zone; a red banner shows how high you need to go. Faster Fins make it easier: the sign over each Big Egg says the Fins speed that outswims its guardian.
