Last Verified: September 8, 2026, after the 2.0.2 hotfix. Sources: the official Fisch Wiki pages for Version 2.0, Skycrest, Fischfest 2, and Codes. Two things the wiki has not published yet: the full Skycrest bestiary rewards past the Bobber and 50,000 C$/XP, and the exact Idol Level thresholds for Ryusei's Wish of the Sky. Everything below is what the wiki does state.

Skycrest went live September 5 at 17:20 UTC. It is the biggest single Fisch expansion since The Deep in August — a permanent floating island tucked behind Fischfest 2, three brand-new hunt bosses, a leveling system that runs to 100, a nine-slot Charm build, and a one-time Wish that lets you claim any of twenty previously time-limited rods. Version 2.0.2 landed on the morning of the 8th, which is why this post is dated three days in: what you can grind now is settled, and the tweaks you would have hit at launch are already patched.

The other thing nobody is talking about loudly enough — Fischfest 2 as a whole closes September 12. Sunshells, Doodle Bundle carryover, King Crabstle hunts, the Sunshell Merchant — all of it goes away in four days. Skycrest is permanent, but the doorway to it stays behind the Fischfest island until then. If you have not touched Fisch since summer, this is the last week to catch up on Fischfest content before it is gone.

What Actually Shipped in 2.0

The wiki's Version 2.0 page lists the raw scope. Rather than paraphrase it into vagueness, here it is:

  • 1 new location: Skycrest, a floating island behind the Fischfest 2 island, reached by swimming up a pair of waterfalls. Plus one sub-location, Abaia's Chamber, behind a Crystal Door at -26520, 3133, -4823.
  • 3 new game systems: Charms, Idol Favor, Wish of the Sky.
  • 3 new localized events: Abaia Hunt, Ancestral Abaia Hunt, Fruity Abaia Hunt.
  • 30 new fish in the Skycrest bestiary.
  • 5 new rods: Abaia's Spite, Ancient Idol Rod, Artisan Rod, Breeze Caster, Fruitline.
  • 1 new mastery: Requiem.
  • 1 new harpoon gun: Breeze Guster. 1 new spear: Artisan Spear.
  • 2 new enchantments: Crested and Empyrean.
  • 2 new weathers: Tropical Squall and Raging Squall.
  • 24 new NPCs including the seven Idols (Hayate, Ebisu, Fudo, Nagomi, Goriki, Shunsoku, Amanojaku).
  • 1 new companion: Idol Taiga, and 1 new companion skin: Dragonico (for Nico).
  • 1 new launch code: SkycrestIsInTheSky — expired September 6 at 16:00 UTC. If you missed it, the Banana Boat is now trade-only or gone.
  • 1 new bundle: Bubblecrest Bundle.

Every one of those — the location, the Idol quests, the rods, the companion, the shop — stays in the game after Fischfest 2 sunsets on September 12. Skycrest is not an event island. The only Skycrest-adjacent thing that leaves on the 12th is the access route through the Fischfest island; expect the developers to hand you a permanent entrance from Moosewood the same day.

Idol Favor — the New Grind Ladder

Idol Favor is Skycrest's XP system. Level 1 to 100. Everything on the island that gates progress — charm slots, Sky Crystal pickups, quest chains — keys off this number, so it is the first bar you push.

Four XP sources, all wiki-confirmed:

  • Fireflies you catch on the island (they also drop as their respective firefly baits): Firefly bait +2 XP, Loopy Five Firefly +12 XP, Blue Ghost Firefly +25 XP, Gombak Bent-Winged Firefly +60 XP.
  • Fish caught in the Skycrest bestiary — XP varies per fish, higher for rarer variants.
  • Quest rewards from the seven Idols and the other Skycrest NPCs. XP varies per quest.
  • The Idol Taiga companion, added in 2.0, provides a +5% Idol XP boost at base, scaling to +25% at max level. Equip it the moment you can.

Post-2.0.1: XP is now affected by all XP boosts on the game, excluding Admin Events. Post-2.0.2: once you hit Idol Level 100, incoming XP is redirected into your equipped Charms instead of being wasted. Both changes materially rescue late-game grind.

The reason to push Idol Favor fast is Charm slots. You unlock them at these Idol Levels: 1 (default), 5, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 80, 100. Nine slots, one for each of the nine Charms in the game — and the last slot only opens at 100. Anyone building for maximum charm stacking has a hard 100 ceiling to reach.

The Nine Charms and How to Unlock Them

Charms are Skycrest's payoff mechanic — buffs that stack in the slots above and level up as you complete more of each Idol's quests. Each quest completed against an Idol raises that Idol's Charm max level by 1. Idols cap at 15 quests each; the Charm cap is Level 15.

The stat formula is straightforward: BaseStatBoost + StatBoostPerLevel × (Level − 1). So a Level 1 Charm gives its base value, a Level 15 Charm gives base + 14 × per-level increment.

Here is every Charm, its source Idol, and what a maxed (Level 15) version gives you:

CharmSourceLevel 1Level 15Stat
SwiftnessHayate Idol — 5th quest+1%+15%Lure Speed
FortuneEbisu Idol — 5th quest+2%+30%Luck
EnduranceFudo Idol — 5th quest+0.015+0.05Control
RelaxationNagomi Idol — 5th quest+1%+15%Resilience
BrawnGoriki Idol — 5th quest+1,000+15,000Max Kg
RushShunsoku Idol — 5th quest+1%+15%Progress Speed
PesterAmanojaku Idol — 5th quest+0.2+3.0Disturbance
TitanicTropical Ascension (10th quest of every Idol)+1%+15%Fish Weight
FlashRaging Ascension (15th quest of every Idol)+0.8%+5.0%Forced Progress Speed

Fortune is the one to prioritize. A maxed Fortune Charm is +30% Luck flat, and it stacks with every other Luck source in the game — totems, weather, rod passives, potions. Ebisu Idol is the first Idol most players will farm out for that reason.

Two of the Charms — Titanic and Flash — are Ascension rewards that gate behind clearing every Idol's 10th and 15th quests respectively. That is 70 Idol quests for Titanic and 105 for Flash. Nobody is Ascending in Week 1. They exist as endgame targets.

Charms slot into a menu opened from the Crest Amulet, an accessory handed to you as part of the Keeper of the Sky questline. You cannot equip a Charm without the Amulet, so run Keeper of the Sky early — do not sit on unlocked Charms with nowhere to put them.

Wish of the Sky — One Wish, Twenty Rods

The headline feature. Wish of the Sky is a mechanic delivered by the NPC Ryusei that grants you a single previously-obtainable quest rod — free — from a pool of 20 rods you don't currently own. If you already own every rod on the list, Ryusei hands you the Siren's Tear early instead.

The rules are ruthless: one wish per account, ever. Not per event. Not per patch. Once you wish, that is your only Wish of the Sky for the lifetime of your Fisch save.

The 20 eligible rods, per the wiki's Fischfest 2 § Wish of the Sky page:

  • Acidgrinder
  • Astraeus Serenade
  • Castbound
  • Chrysalis
  • Cinderstring
  • Eardrum
  • Fallen Snowblade
  • Lullaby
  • MiguRod
  • Noctone
  • Noiseform
  • Part
  • Polaris Serenade
  • Remembrance
  • Silly Fun Happy Rod
  • SOULREAPER
  • Steampunk Rod
  • Test Rod
  • Wingkeeper
  • Wingripper

Two things that catch people out. First: wishing does not immediately give you the rod. The NPC who originally handed out that rod's quest spawns in on the island, and you have to complete the original questline to actually receive it. That is a real time investment for the harder rods — MiguRod, SOULREAPER, Astraeus Serenade, and Lullaby all had punishing quest chains at launch.

Second: the rods on this list are all quest rods that did not require limited materials. Nothing that was ever craft-only or event-locked qualifies. So no Zeus Thundermaul, no Celestial Rod (both crafted), no Sovereign Rod (Keeperbound). If you want those, you still have to do the normal grind.

How to actually pick one. The value hierarchy from the community's testing over the last three days runs roughly:

  1. SOULREAPER or Lullaby if you're endgame — both are top-shelf rods that carry into every current biome, and Lullaby's questline is notoriously long.
  2. MiguRod if you're mid-game and want a versatile all-rounder without redoing the Part questline yourself.
  3. Astraeus Serenade or Polaris Serenade if you have Starfall or Aurora rotations in your grind pattern — both got mutation-chance buffs in 2.0.
  4. Skip Test Rod and Silly Fun Happy Rod unless you are collecting. They are joke tier for actual fishing.

Because you get exactly one, my honest advice is: wait a week before you wish. Ryusei is not going anywhere — Skycrest is permanent, and Wish of the Sky isn't listed with an event timer. Better to buyer's-remorse an unpicked wish than to wish MiguRod and realize a month later you would rather have had SOULREAPER.

The Three Abaia Hunts

Skycrest ships with three variants of the same boss fight. All three take place in Abaia's Chamber — the sub-location behind the Crystal Door on the island's north face — and all three require prep the game will not do for you.

Abaia Hunt (base). Spawns when a Tropical Squall is active and you sacrifice fish to the Fire of Spirits after all 10 Sky Crystals are placed in the chamber. When it spawns, the server sees the message: An Abaia stirs within its chamber… Once triggered, players run 4 Crest Barrier catches across 4 different fishing locations on the island before the Abaia becomes catchable.

Ancestral Abaia Hunt. Same setup, but requires a Raging Squall (rarer weather — sometimes replaces a Tropical Squall, or spawn one with a Raging Squall Totem). Higher difficulty. Same 4-Crest-Barrier requirement.

Fruity Abaia Hunt. The odd one out. You sacrifice the 9 limited fish of the island to the Fire during a Tropical Sun, then wait for any Squall (Tropical or Raging) to be active. Post-2.0.1 hotfix, the Fruity Abaia can be summoned without Sky Crystals placed and without penalty — if you had already contributed to a summon at some point. If the ritual completes during an active Squall, the Fruity Abaia spawns immediately.

Two hunt-wide caveats: Sundial Totems cannot spawn any Abaia hunt (patched at launch, still patched), and once a hunt is caught, it ends server-wide. If you are in a public server, expect to lose most contested hunts unless you are running with a full crew.

The 10 Sky Crystals (Where Each One Lives)

Every Abaia hunt except Fruity is gated behind placing 10 Sky Crystals in Abaia's Chamber. Skipping any of them makes the hunts significantly harder, per the 2.0.1 patch note. Here is where each Crystal comes from — note the Idol Level requirements, which is why Idol Favor grind comes first:

Two of these are money sinks disguised as Crystals: the Skull Crystal at 500,000 C$, and the trip through Scoria Mines to reach the Infernal Crystal will burn resources if you are underleveled. Budget for both.

New Rods, Harpoon Gun, Spear, Mastery

Five new rods. In rough order of the roles they fill:

  • Ancient Idol Rod — The main progression quest rod for Skycrest, tied to the Idol questline. Has a skin, Empyrean Idol, from the same quest chain.
  • Abaia's Spite — The Abaia hunt reward rod. If you catch an Abaia variant, this is what you're grinding it for.
  • Artisan Rod — The middle-of-the-market rod, sold from Kaito's Weekly Shop at 80,000 C$. Buffed in 2.0.1: slash progress doubled from 1% to 2%, though the 0.05-second stun was removed as a balance offset.
  • Breeze Caster — A wind-themed rod paired with the new Breeze Guster harpoon gun.
  • Fruitline — The Fruity Abaia reward rod, tied to the fruit-themed hunt loop.

The Requiem mastery is Skycrest's exclusive mastery track, and completing it awards the Ethereal Requiem skin plus the "The Requiem" player title. This is the endgame mastery grind for the update.

Also from 2.0's balance sheet: Astraeus Serenade got straight buffs across the board (+3% Astraeus, +3% Serene, +3% each on Celestial/Breezed/Nova mutations; Flurry of Stars doubled from 3 to 6 extra stars). No-Life Rod gained Progress Speed +25%, control 0.23 → 0.28, lure speed 90% → 100%, and a Crimson/Sanguine mutation chance on its mastery. Rod of the Depths gained Progress Speed +10%, lure speed 65% → 75%, hunt focus 5 → 20. Seraphic Rod gained Forced Progress Speed and a Heavenly mutation chance. Every one of those rods just got materially better without you doing anything — if you have them, re-equip and re-test.

Kaito's Weekly Shop — the New Reroll Loop

Elder Kaito runs a weekly shop from a building in the Skycrest village. Five item slots, each with its own drop weighting; you can reroll the whole shop once per week for 350,000 C$, or through three Robux rerolls at 196 Robux each.

The full drop table (item, cost in C$, spawn chance, quantity, weekly limit):

ItemCostChanceQtyWeekly Limit

Artisan Rod80,000100% until purchased1No limit

Rainbow Totem150,0008.989%12
Sovereign Relic500,0003.371%12
Empyrean Relic1,500,0001.124%12

Two takeaways for reroll economics. The Golden Firefly at 50k C$ is guaranteed every reroll — if you are grinding Idol XP hard, that alone offsets much of a C$ reroll. And Empyrean Relic is the ultra-rare pull at 1.124%; if it appears in your shop, buy it — at 1.5M C$ it is expensive, but you cannot obtain Empyrean Relics anywhere else on the island.

My personal rule after two weeks of similar mechanics in other games: never Robux-reroll a weekly shop unless you already have the Golden Firefly and you specifically need one of the totems for a scheduled hunt this week. C$ rerolls compound; Robux ones don't.

What 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 Changed

Skycrest launched September 5. The developers pushed 2.0.1 on September 7 at 05:25 UTC and 2.0.2 on September 8 at 08:45 UTC. The important changes if you played before either:

2.0.1 (Sept 7):

  • Artisan Rod: slash progress 1% → 2%, stun removed.
  • Abaia and Ancestral Abaia hunts: Limited fish are now excluded from the hunt (they were being pulled by mistake and inflating catch RNG). Hunts are also harder if Sky Crystals aren't fully placed.
  • Fruity Abaia: now summonable without Sky Crystals if you had prior contribution; spawns immediately if the ritual completes during any Squall.
  • Fire of Spirits: upper charge limit raised; sacrifice value can't drop below fish base price; fire glows green/blue/pink to indicate which Abaia hunt is queuing.
  • Fruit Lover Frank: now has a 5-day expiration timer. Watch the clock on his quest line.
  • Passive Block System: Level 2+ fish can no longer be replaced by Dark Wisps, and can no longer be hooked twice by Splitbranch Twig or Bellona's Waraxe. Both were exploit-adjacent.

2.0.2 (Sept 8):

  • New game system: Bounty Showdown added to Crews. Crew-adjacent players should read the Crews page.
  • Charms: leveling now affected by XP boosts (excluding Admin Events). At max Idol Level, XP is redirected to Charms — end of wasted late-game grind.
  • Abundance spots added for African Butterflyfish, Dwarf Pea Puffer, Myloplus Sauron.
  • Bug fixes: Squall Totems now usable during meteorological weather, some Lullaby questline NPCs re-interactive, Squid fish behavior corrected, Protected Abaia rarity fixed (was way rarer than intended), and roamer fish can no longer bypass stuns.

Your Week 1 Priority Order

If you have not touched Skycrest yet, this is the order that maximizes your Idol Favor and Charm progress in the least playtime. Assumes a fresh Skycrest account with the Crest Amulet acquired:

  1. Pick up the free Sky Crystals first. Lighthouse (Idol 0), Living (Idol 15), Mountain (Idol 20), Divine (Idol 40), Infernal (Idol 50). Five of the ten crystals are just pickups, no questline needed — grab them as your Idol Level allows.
  2. Farm fireflies on the island for Idol XP. Gombak Bent-Winged Fireflies at +60 XP each are the density payoff, but Loopy Fives at +12 are common enough to be your bread-and-butter early.
  3. Equip Idol Taiga the moment you unlock the companion. That +5% (scaling to +25%) is compounding across every XP source.
  4. Push Ebisu Idol's first 5 quests for the Fortune Charm. Luck is the highest-leverage stat in the game.
  5. Grab the two cheapest paid Crystals when you can afford them — Aquatic (fishing quest, Idol 3), Campfire (needs an Albino Skycrest fish, Idol 5).
  6. Wait on Wish of the Sky. It is one wish, permanent. Don't panic-spend it in Week 1.
  7. Check Kaito's Weekly Shop on reset day. Buy the Golden Firefly every week. Reroll for Empyrean Relic if you're sitting on 1.5M C$.

Codes Check — What Actually Works Right Now

Only three permanently active Fisch codes are working as of this morning, per the wiki's Codes page:

  • SCARLET — Scarlet skin for Nate's Blade. Expires December 15, 2026.
  • TemporarySubmarine — Submarine parts set. Expires October 18, 2026.
  • CARBON — Carbon Bobber. Never expires.

The Skycrest launch code SkycrestIsInTheSky (Banana Boat + 1,000 C$ + baits + random totem) expired September 6 at 16:00 UTC — roughly 24 hours after launch. Every one-day update code Fisch has run this year has followed the same 24-hour window; expect the same for the next update.

The full archive lives on the Fisch codes hub. Anything not on the three-item active list above will not redeem.

FAQ

What version of Fisch is Skycrest?

Version 2.0, released September 5, 2026 at 17:20 UTC. Two hotfixes have shipped since: 2.0.1 on September 7 and 2.0.2 on September 8.

How do I get to Skycrest?

Skycrest is a floating island reached by swimming up a pair of waterfalls behind the Fischfest 2 island. You need the Magical Conch (or the Fischfest 2 access it gives) to reach the base island. After September 12, when Fischfest 2 closes, expect a permanent entrance from Moosewood.

Does Skycrest go away when Fischfest 2 ends?

No. Skycrest is a permanent location. Only the Fischfest 2 event content around it — Sunshells, the King Crabstle hunt, the Sunshell Merchant — goes away on September 12.

How many times can I use Wish of the Sky?

Once per account, ever. It is not repeatable per event or per patch. Choose carefully — the wish gives you the rod's questline back, not the rod itself, so factor in the quest time.

Which rod should I wish for?

SOULREAPER or Lullaby for endgame players — both were top-tier rods with punishing quests. MiguRod if you want a versatile mid-game rod without redoing the Part chain. Skip Test Rod and Silly Fun Happy Rod unless you are collecting.

What is the fastest way to grind Idol Favor?

Equip Idol Taiga (companion) for the +5% to +25% XP boost, then farm Gombak Bent-Winged Fireflies on the island for +60 XP each. Combine with quest completions from any of the seven Idols, since quest XP outweighs firefly XP over time.

How do I unlock all 9 Charm slots?

By reaching Idol Levels 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60, 80, and 100. The 9th slot only opens at Idol Level 100, which is the hard cap on the leveling system.

What Charm should I equip first?

Fortune (+2% Luck at level 1, +30% at max). Luck stacks with every other Luck source in the game — totems, weathers, rods. Ebisu Idol's 5th quest unlocks it.

How do I spawn an Abaia?

Place all 10 Sky Crystals in Abaia's Chamber, then sacrifice fish to the Fire of Spirits during a Tropical Squall (base Abaia) or Raging Squall (Ancestral Abaia). Fruity Abaia has its own recipe involving 9 limited fish sacrificed during Tropical Sun with a Squall active.

Can I still redeem the SkycrestIsInTheSky code?

No. The launch code expired September 6, 2026 at 16:00 UTC — roughly 24 hours after Skycrest went live. The Banana Boat is now only available through trading.

How often does Kaito's Weekly Shop reset?

Weekly, with a manual reroll available for 350,000 C$ or 196 Robux (up to three Robux rerolls per cycle). Golden Firefly is guaranteed on every reroll at 50k C$.

What is the rarest thing in Kaito's shop?

Empyrean Relic at 1.124% chance, 1,500,000 C$. If it appears in your shop, buy it — it is the only route to Empyrean Relics on the island.
