Last Verified: September 2, 2026. The event ID, teaser wording, and September 4 to September 26 window come from the official Roblox event listing at roblox.com/events/8627987553812480558, cross-checked against the allthings.how event schedule mirror for the exact regional times. The currently-working codes list below is pulled straight from the Rivals Fandom Codes page. The developer has not published the weapon's name, its category, its price in Keys, or any balance changes.

Two things happened on the RIVALS event listing this week, and both matter more than the emoji header suggests. First: the update has a firm date. Second: the dev tease is one sentence long and it is the biggest weapon news RIVALS has posted since the year of its launch. Verbatim from the Roblox event page:

"A new standard weapon arrives for the first time in nearly 2 years... Say goodbye to the Summer Event."

The event is titled UPDATE 22 - RIVALS and it goes live on Thursday, September 4, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET (8:00 PM CT, 6:00 PM PT), running through Friday, September 26, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET. That is not a two-day event window — that is a three-week challenge event, the same structural shape as Update 21's Summer Event, which means the new weapon is the marquee item but there will be an event-page task loop attached. Everything else on this page follows from those two sentences.

TL;DR — What We Know and What We Do Not

Confirmed (Roblox event page, wiki, this morning)

  • Update: UPDATE 22.
  • Start: Thursday, September 4, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET.
  • End: Friday, September 26, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET.
  • Event ID: 8627987553812480558.
  • Headline: a brand-new Standard-category weapon — the first added in "nearly 2 years" per the developer.
  • Sunset: the Summer Event that shipped with Update 21 on June 27 ends when Update 22 goes live. The dev's own phrasing: "Say goodbye to the Summer Event."

Not yet confirmed

  • The new weapon's name, slot (Primary, Secondary, Melee, Utility), or price in Keys.
  • Whether it will be free like Assault Rifle or a purchase like Sniper.
  • Any balance changes, map additions, or gamemode changes shipping alongside it.
  • Whether the challenge event will award the weapon as a challenge reward or gate it behind Keys.
  • Any new codes tied to launch — none are posted on the Fandom Codes page as of this morning.

Nobody quoting a specific weapon name, model, or price for Update 22 is sourcing that from Nosniy or SenseiWarrior — those are the two developer accounts with post-authority on Rivals, and neither has posted specifics yet. Ignore leak posts unless one of them says it.

What Roblox Actually Published

The event page is not a rumor and it is not a leak. It is a first-party listing on roblox.com/events, indexed by Roblox's own events system so it shows up in-app when players open the RIVALS experience card. What is on it right now, word for word:

  • Page title: UPDATE 22 - RIVALS
  • Description: "A new standard weapon arrives for the first time in nearly 2 years... Say goodbye to the Summer Event"
  • Event URL: roblox.com/events/8627987553812480558

Two useful things follow from the phrasing. The developer is calling out the weapon's category — "standard" — explicitly. That is meaningful. RIVALS separates its weapons into three tiers: Standard, Prime, and Contraband. Standard is the base tier — the free Assault Rifle, the affordable Katana, the utility-slot Grenade. Prime and Contraband have gotten new additions in the last twelve months. Standard has not. The dev's decision to lead the tease with "standard" is a way of saying: this is a base-tier weapon everyone will interact with, not a paid Prime skin drop.

The Summer Event line is the second useful bit. It confirms the sunset without being coy about it — Pearls, Tropical Chest, Summer Skin Case, Pirate Bundle rotational slots all leave the shop when Update 22 goes live. If you were parked on the fence about the Summer Skin Case, this is the actual deadline. Thursday, 9:00 PM ET.

"First New Standard Weapon in Nearly 2 Years" — What That Actually Means

RIVALS launched on June 28, 2024. That number matters because "nearly 2 years" back from September 4, 2026 lands you in the late-2024 post-launch content cycle — the era when the developer was still rounding out the base lineup with weapons like Uzi, Revolver, Handgun, Freeze Ray, and the Katana. Since then, every weapon added has been either a Prime (paid, higher tier) or a Contraband (unlock via bundles or events). Distortion, Permafrost, Warper, Grappler, Scepter, Glass Cannon, Glast Shard — all Prime or Contraband. None Standard.

What that means for the Update 22 weapon is that it slots into the free-to-earn progression path. Standard weapons are either free at zero Keys (Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, Grenade) or reasonably priced in Keys (Bow at 15 Keys, Battle Axe at 50, Sniper at 100). The most expensive Standard weapon in the game today is under 100 Keys. Prime and Contraband can run five to ten times that. If the Update 22 weapon holds to Standard-tier pricing, this is going to be a lineup change most active players actually interact with, not a wall-off.

The other useful frame: it means the base weapon lineup is not solved. If the dev is willing to drop a new Standard weapon two years in, the meta is not frozen. That is a signal for tier-list watchers to expect a shakeup — new weapon slots into the tier chart, existing weapons in that role get a second look, adjacent weapons get balance nudges. Watch the Bow, Handgun, and Katana slots specifically depending on which the new weapon competes with.

The Current Standard-Weapon Lineup

As of this morning, RIVALS has 30 Standard-category weapons across the four slots. This is the shelf the new one is being added to:

Primary (8 Standards)

Assault Rifle, Bow, Burst Rifle, Crossbow, Gunblade, RPG, Shotgun, Sniper.

Secondary (6 Standards)

Daggers, Flare Gun, Handgun, Revolver, Shorty, Spray, Uzi.

(Note: the Fandom Weapons gallery lists seven Standard secondaries — Daggers, Flare Gun, Handgun, Revolver, Shorty, Spray, Uzi.)

Melee (6 Standards)

Battle Axe, Chainsaw, Fists, Katana, Knife, Riot Shield, Scythe.

Utility (Standards)

Flashbang, Freeze Ray, Grenade, Jump Pad, Molotov, Satchel, Smoke Grenade, War Horn.

The dev has not indicated which slot the new weapon fills. Historically, Standard additions have leaned toward filling gameplay gaps rather than duplicating existing archetypes — the Riot Shield sat alone in its niche, the Chainsaw introduced a wind-up melee, the Bow sat between Sniper and Crossbow as a projectile primary. If the pattern holds, expect the new weapon to be a role the current 30 do not cover cleanly, not a straight upgrade to an existing weapon.

Summer Event Sunset: Everything Ending September 4

The dev's "Say goodbye to the Summer Event" line is not a maybe. When challenge events end in RIVALS, the currency and rotating shop lines leave with them. Here is what is time-boxed to Thursday night:

  • Pearls currency: the earned-and-spent event currency introduced with Update 21. Unspent Pearls are lost when the event ends — the shop stops accepting them. Spend down to zero before 9:00 PM ET Thursday.
  • Tropical Chest: the loot-heavy event chest with Kraken Sniper, Cannon Shorty, Pirate Hook, and the rest of the summer-themed cosmetic lineup. Rotates out at Update 22.
  • Summer Skin Case: the case containing a fresh skin for every weapon in the game — the one-time-only summer variant. If you were saving Keys for this, Thursday is your deadline.
  • Summer event page tasks: the daily and weekly Pearls-earning tasks stop paying out. Any tasks you have banked mid-progress reset.
  • Summer-themed lobby: reverts. The beach party goes away.
  • Pearls Rush 5x boost: the daily 250-Pearl boosted farm loop is Summer-event scaffolding. It leaves with the event.
  • RIVALSSUMMER code: the code that grants 3 Tropical Chests will almost certainly stop working once the Tropical Chest itself leaves the shop. Redeem this week.
  • COCONUTBONK code: grants 250 Pearls. Same logic — once Pearls stop being a live currency, this code has nothing to deposit. Redeem this week.

The Pirate Bundle is technically listed as a permanent shop entry per the Update 21 patch notes, not a rotational one, so it should survive the Update 22 transition. That is dev-stated, not guaranteed. If the Cutlass Katana skin is on your wishlist and you have the Robux for it, buying before Thursday removes the risk. If you do not, you almost certainly still have time — but pay attention to the shop the day of.

CodeRewardNotes
FREE1963 KeysCurrent milestone code — refreshes every 50,000 likes.
IMMELTINGHELP2 KeysNew — added to the wiki's working list.
CANNONBALLLLL5 Goodie BagsNew — Summer-adjacent, redeem before Update 22.
COMMUNITY241 Community Wrap (random weapon)Current community-code rotation.
RIVALSSUMMER3 Tropical ChestsSummer-event tied — expected to expire at Update 22.
COCONUTBONK250 PearlsSummer-event tied — expected to expire at Update 22.
ROBLOX_RTC5 KeysCase-sensitive — enter in all caps.
BONUS1 KeyPermanent.
BOOST1 KeyPermanent.
ELBILLUGNothingJoke code — "GULLIBLE" backwards. Officially added to the game to grant literally nothing.

The starting-line milestone code, FREE196, is the current rotation. FREE195 and below are expired — the Fandom's expired-codes list explicitly runs FREE51 through FREE195. If you see a listicle citing FREE192, FREE187, or lower as "still working," that list is stale.

Also worth knowing about the code system: the format changed at FREE175. Before that, every FREE code refreshed every 5,000 likes. From FREE175 onward, the refresh interval is 50,000 likes. That is why milestone code turnover slowed down starting mid-summer — the wall between codes is now ten times as long.

Prep Checklist Before Thursday

Two things to do this week if you play Rivals at all, ranked in order of "amount of value lost if you miss it":

  1. Spend every Pearl in your inventory. They vanish at 9:00 PM ET Thursday. Whatever you were saving for, buy it now — the Summer Skin Case if you're a cosmetics player, the Tropical Chest for a swing at the higher-rarity charms and wraps, or an emote you actually want. Unspent Pearls are worth zero after the event.
  2. Redeem RIVALSSUMMER and COCONUTBONK. These are event-tied codes. Once the event ends, the Pearls and Tropical Chests they grant have no live destination. Two minutes of your time.
  3. Grab FREE196, IMMELTINGHELP, and CANNONBALLLLL. These are Standard working codes. Keys and Goodie Bags carry over across events — no urgency, but there is no reason not to bank them now.
  4. Finish any outstanding Summer event page tasks. Any Pearls task you have banked partial progress on resets when the event ends. If you are close on the "win X games" or "earn X Pearls" milestones, one more session closes them out.
  5. Decide on the Pirate Bundle. Officially permanent per Update 21 patch notes, but events sometimes reshuffle the shop. If the Cutlass Katana skin is on your list, the safe move is Thursday morning, not Thursday night.

Do not spend Keys speculating on the new weapon. Nosniy has not said whether it is a Keys purchase, a challenge-event reward, or a free unlock. Speculation could burn a stack of Keys you would rather have when the actual price posts.

FAQ

What is RIVALS Update 22?

The next major RIVALS update. It has a Roblox event listing scheduled for September 4, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET through September 26, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET. The dev tease says a new Standard-category weapon is arriving — the first Standard weapon added to the game in nearly 2 years — and the Summer Event from Update 21 is ending.

Exactly when does Update 22 go live?

Thursday, September 4, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET (8:00 PM CT, 6:00 PM PT, 6:00 AM UTC Friday). That is the timestamp on the Roblox event page.

What is the new standard weapon?

Not announced. The developer's tease is one sentence and it does not name the weapon, its slot, its price, or its stats. Anyone posting a specific weapon name as "confirmed" for Update 22 is guessing.

Why is it a big deal that it is Standard?

Standard is the base weapon tier — free or cheaply priced in Keys. Every weapon RIVALS has added since 2024's early post-launch content window has been either Prime (paid, higher tier) or Contraband (unlock via bundles or events). This is the first weapon in almost 2 years that will slot into the free-to-earn progression path most players actually interact with.

Does the Summer Event actually end September 4?

Yes. The dev's own phrasing on the Roblox event page is "Say goodbye to the Summer Event." That means Pearls stop being a live currency, the Tropical Chest rotates out, the Summer Skin Case leaves the shop, and the summer-themed lobby reverts.

Will unspent Pearls carry over to a future event?

No. Event currencies in Rivals do not carry between events. Whatever Pearls you have not spent by 9:00 PM ET Thursday are lost.

What about the Pirate Bundle?

Officially listed as a permanent shop entry in the Update 21 patch notes — it should survive the Update 22 transition. That said, Rivals events do occasionally reshuffle the shop. If the Cutlass Katana skin or any other bundle-exclusive cosmetic is on your wishlist, buying before the switchover removes the risk.

Will there be Update 22 launch codes?

Almost certainly. Rivals has released a launch-day code for every major update in the last twelve months — CANNONBALLLLL and IMMELTINGHELP were the Update 21 tie-in codes. Watch @Nosniy on X and the Fandom Codes page from Thursday evening. We will update our Rivals codes page the moment a new code posts.

Should I spend Keys before Update 22 or save them?

Save. The new weapon might be free, might be a challenge reward, or might cost Keys — Nosniy has not said. Burning your Key stash on Prime weapons this week and finding out the new Standard costs 100 Keys on Thursday night is the avoidable version of this.

Is the wiki updated with Update 22 patch notes yet?

No. As of this morning, the Roblox Rivals Wiki Updates page only lists through Update 21 (June 26, 2026). Patch notes will land the moment the update ships — typically within a few hours of launch.
