Every unit the Anime Defenders wiki still has a live meta judgement on — 35 of them — with the rarity, element, role and passive it publishes for each, ranked into the SS–B ladder people actually search for. This cluster covers units and nothing else, and the reason why is on this page.
Anime Defenders has 35 meta-relevant units in our dataset: 21 carry the wiki's META flag, 11 sit in its GOOD class, and 3 are economy or off-meta picks we place below both. Celestial Tyrant, Expert Sharpshooter, King Of Dragons, Shadow Dragon (Unlocked) lead our SS tier. The wiki classifies units META/GOOD per role rather than SS–B, so the ladder is our mapping — every rarity, role and passive is wiki-sourced.

Celestial Tyrant
AncientLightSupport / CC
The only Ancient-rarity meta pick and the best support/control unit in the game. "Heavenly Freeze" freezes every enemy in range for 10s and applies 50% Fear (frozen enemies take +50% damage). Evolves from Divine Tyrant via the Blood Chalice. Wiki META Support.
Expert Sharpshooter
MythicMagicalDPS (Hill/Hybrid)
The premier Infinite DPS carry. 50% crit chance and +50% crit damage at max, plus "Huge Bullet Blast" (500% damage over 10 hits in a cone, 30s cooldown). One of the highest true-DPS units on the wiki tier list.
King Of Dragons
MythicFireDPS / AoE (Hill/Hybrid)
The meta Fire AoE carry and the evolved form of Flame Dragon God. Burn deals 100% damage over 5 ticks, and its "Burn Amplification" passive doubles burn — devastating on grouped waves. Wiki META Hill/Hybrid.
Shadow Dragon (Unlocked)
ExclusiveSoulSupport
The best pure-buff support. "Otherworldly Power" gives allies in range -15% attack cooldown and +25% range for 20s (80s cooldown, 50s maxed) — offense and support at once. Evolved form of Shadow Dragon. Wiki META Support.
Units by role — the wiki's own filing
Wiki-synced dataThe wiki does not rank units against each other overall. It sorts them into Hill/Hybrid, Ground and Support and marks each one META or GOOD inside that role. Hybrids appear in more than one family, which is how the wiki treats them too. This is the classification unrearranged — the tier badge beside each name is the only thing we added.

Read down a column rather than across a row: rarity does not line up with tier. Elements are recorded for only 15 of the 35 units (Blood 2, Frost 2, Light 2, Magical 2, Soul 2, Basic 1, Fire 1, Martial 1, Mystic 1, Wind 1), so we do not build anything on them here — and we publish no element effectiveness chart, because the multipliers are not on the page this dataset comes from.
Evolutions to prioritise
Named on the unit pages4 units on this list are evolved forms, and in every chain the evolution is the meta-relevant version. If you already hold a base form, the evolution materials beat another summon.
There is no Anime Defenders codes page here — here is why
Codes source unvalidated since December 2024A statement about a source we will not use. Nothing in this box is a code list.
The only public source of Anime Defenders codes is the game's Fandom Codes page, last edited December 19, 2024. That page says on its own face that the codes it lists have not been validated as working.
We used to mirror it. On August 8, 2026 a re-verify found we were serving Christmas 2024 codes as live, so we deleted the codes page and, at the time, the whole cluster with it. A page we cannot keep honest is worth less than no page.
The unit data on this hub comes from a different wiki page — the Tier List, last edited May 15, 2026 and cross-referenced against unit pages edited through July 2026. That source is alive, so the units came back on August 15, 2026 and the codes did not. If you want to hunt codes anyway, go to the primary source above and treat every line as unverified, because its own maintainers do.
How to read the ladder when you are actually building a board
Strategy — our take, not a published statOur own read on the game. Nothing in this box is a wiki-sourced figure and none of it should be quoted as one.
Composition beats rank. Of the 21 units the wiki flags META, 12 are Support. A board of pure carries with no buffer or freeze on it will lose to one that mixes them — the ladder ranks units, not boards.
The B tier is a starting point, not a graveyard. Pink Demon Mage, Pink Rockstar, Thunder God sit there for different reasons: economy and budget picks that fund a board early, and one unit that has dropped off the wiki list entirely. Read each note before you write any of them off.
Evolution materials outrank summons. Every evolution chain on this page ends higher than it starts, and 3 of the 4 base forms are not ranked here at all — for those, the gap between base and evolved is the difference between unranked and meta.
Treat every tier list, including this one, as dated. A tower-defense meta moves on balance patches. Ours is anchored to a wiki page last edited May 15, 2026 and re-checked August 5, 2026; when that page moves, we move, and until it does we do not invent movement.

That is deliberately not "every unit in the game": it is every unit the wiki still has a live meta judgement on, which is the set worth ranking.
What are the best units in Anime Defenders?
We place 4 in SS: Celestial Tyrant (Ancient), Expert Sharpshooter (Mythic), King Of Dragons (Mythic), Shadow Dragon (Unlocked) (Exclusive). Divine Tyrant into Celestial Tyrant (SS), Flame Dragon God into King Of Dragons (SS), Shadow Dragon into Shadow Dragon (Unlocked) (SS), Poseidon into Poseidon (Sea Sovereign) (S). In all 4 chains the evolved form is the meta-relevant one, so evolution materials are worth more than another summon if you already hold the base.
Does element matter more than tier in Anime Defenders?
We cannot answer that from what we can source. Our dataset records an element for only 15 of the 35 units (Blood 2, Frost 2, Light 2, Magical 2, Soul 2, Basic 1, Fire 1, Martial 1, Mystic 1, Wind 1), and the effectiveness multipliers are not published on the page this data is built from. Rather than reprint a matchup chart we cannot re-verify, we leave it out and point you at the wiki.
