ANIME DEFENDERS
Tower defense at anime scale. Deploy units from Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. Master the Elements system, reroll perfect Traits, and clear Infinite Mode.
WHAT IS ANIME DEFENDERS?
Anime Defenders is a tower defense game on Roblox where you place units — characters inspired by the biggest anime franchises — along a path to stop waves of enemies from reaching your base. With 2 billion visits and a consistently active playerbase, it's one of the most-played tower defense experiences on the platform.
You acquire units through a gacha summon system using Gems. Each unit has a rarity tier (Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic → Secret → Exclusive), an element type, and a random Trait that modifies its stats. The "right" unit isn't just about rarity — element affinity, trait quality, and team composition all matter.
Update 10 added the Elements system— a full type chart where your unit's element matches up against enemy elements for damage multipliers. It fundamentally changed how you build teams and is now central to all high-level play.
UNIT TIER LIST
Based on Update 10/11 community consensus. Elements, trait quality, and team synergy affect real performance — treat this as a starting point, not a ceiling.
Best unit in the game. Exclusive rarity. Otherworldly Power ability adds 25% range and 15% cooldown reduction to all nearby allies — plays offense and support simultaneously.
New top-tier from Update 10. Ancient rarity. Massive burst damage with range coverage that most Legendaries can't touch. The non-Exclusive pick for top-end DPS.
Top support unit. AoE ice slows combined with stat auras make surrounding units hit harder. Best support available outside of Shadow Dragon's passive.
Added Update 10. Highest cash-per-wave of any farm unit in the game. Run her in one slot to fund upgrade costs without sacrificing DPS elsewhere.
Second-best dedicated support. Water element synergy amplifies ice/water compositions significantly.
Fire element powerhouse. Excels against ice-type enemies per the type chart. Great for targeted counterpicking in elemental stages.
Fast attack speed with chain lightning. Particularly effective on grouped enemy waves. Mythical rarity evolved from Thunder Shinobi.

ELEMENTS SYSTEM
Every unit and every enemy now has an element type. The type chart determines damage multipliers — a unit whose element is strongagainst an enemy's element deals increased damage. Bringing the right element into a stage is the difference between struggling and steamrolling.
TRAITS GUIDE
Traits are stat bonuses randomly assigned to a unit when you summon it. They can boost damage output, increase range, reduce cooldown, improve critical hit chance, and more. The same unit with a top-tier Trait outperforms the same unit with a poor Trait by a meaningful margin at endgame.
How Traits Work
Every unit is born with one Trait. Traits come in rarity tiers — higher rarity means bigger bonuses. You cannot choose your Trait when summoning; it's assigned randomly.
Rerolling Traits
Use Trait Crystals (earned from Raids, Challenges, and codes) to reroll a unit's Trait. Each reroll randomizes a new Trait — there is no preview before committing.
When to Reroll
Only invest Trait Crystals in SS and S tier units. Rerolling B-tier units is a waste of a limited resource. Prioritize your best DPS and support units first.
Getting Trait Crystals
Main sources: Raid completions, Challenge mode rewards, daily missions, and codes. Trait Crystals are scarce early on — hoard them until you have SS/S units.
GAME MODES
Anime Defenders has five distinct modes. Each serves a different purpose in your progression loop.
Story Mode
Clear progressively harder stages. Best for learning the game, unlocking units, and earning your first Gems. Work through all chapters before jumping into harder content.
Raids
Coop boss fights with massive HP pools. Requires coordinating unit compositions with other players. Best source of Trait Crystals — run these daily once you're mid-game.
Challenge Mode
Harder stages with modified rules (limited unit slots, element restrictions, etc.). Significantly better rewards than Story. Complete daily challenges for bonus Gems.
Infinite Mode
Endless waves that scale indefinitely. How far you get is a direct measure of your team's power. Milestone floors drop rare unit materials and high-value rewards.
AFK Mode
Leave your account in AFK Mode to earn Gems passively over time. Not the fastest farming method but adds up significantly when combined with active play sessions.
