Last Verified: May 13, 2026. Keeperbound update (v1.83, May 9) sourced from Fischipedia wiki, Sportskeeda patch notes, FansFirstBooyah, and Deltia's Gaming keeper guide. SOULREAPER and Acidgrinder rod quests sourced from Sportskeeda and Gamezebo. The Wingkeeper Rod (Seraphel's questline) is covered separately in our Venue Takeover guide.

Fisch's Keeperbound Update (v1.83) arrived May 9, 2026, building on the Venue Takeover (v1.82, May 2) with an entirely new underground zone, a Keeper Level progression system, and three new Sovereign weather events. This guide covers the Keeperbound content in full — plus the two Venue Takeover rods we hadn't detailed yet: the SOULREAPER and Acidgrinder. If you're still working through Venue Takeover rod quests, there's a lot to get through before the event closes.

Sovereign Mines — How to Access

The Sovereign Mines is an underground zone beneath the Statue of Sovereignty. To get there:

  1. Go to the Statue of Sovereignty (existing surface landmark)
  2. Take the passage to the left of the elevator that leads to the Keeper's Altar
  3. Enter the Sovereign Mines through that passage

Once inside, you'll find multiple NPCs and the Enchanted Crevice — a dedicated fishing zone that's central to Keeper progression. Fishing here awards Keeper XP and is one of the four ways to repower Keeperbound rods.

Keeper Progression System

The Keeperbound update adds a new, separate progression track alongside your main fishing level:

  • Speak to the Keeper Warden NPC in the Sovereign Mines to begin earning Keeper XP
  • Progress through quests, help miners affected by the altar breach, and run repeatable Keeper tasks to level up
  • Higher Keeper Level unlocks deeper altar access and increases how many Keeperbound rods you can hold simultaneously

Keeper's Ritual

A new enchantment mechanism called the Keeper's Ritual is tied to your Keeper Level. Higher levels unlock stronger ritual options for augmenting your fishing gear. The specific ritual mechanics are still being mapped by the community — check Fischipedia for the most current documentation.

Keeperbound Rods — How to Repower

Keeperbound rods are a new rod category that deplete charge and need to be repowered. Four methods restore them:

  • Completing quests for the Keeper Warden
  • Landing perfect catches (timing-based catch mechanic)
  • Fishing during any Sovereign Weather event window
  • Fishing in the Enchanted Crevice inside the Sovereign Mines

Sovereign Weather windows are your most efficient repower opportunity — they stack the relic drops and Keeper XP at the same time, so don't waste those windows on surface fishing.

Sovereign Weather Events

Three new weather events were added with the Keeperbound update. All three cause Sovereign Beams to appear across the ocean and increase Sovereign Relic drop rates from fish caught inside the beams.

WeatherIntensityWhat to Do
Sovereign SurgeModerateFish inside Sovereign Beams for boosted relic drops and Sovereign-mutated fish spawns
Sovereign StormHighHigher spawn rate of Sovereign-mutated rare fish — good for both relics and Keeper XP
Sovereign ReckoningMaximumStrongest Sovereign weather — highest relic drop rates and rarest fish variants. Prioritize Enchanted Crevice fishing here.

Monitor weather in the Fisch Discord or check the in-game weather indicator. When Sovereign Reckoning triggers, stop what you're doing and fish.

SOULREAPER Rod — The Reaper NPC Quest

The SOULREAPER rod is one of three limited-time rods from the Venue Takeover update (v1.82, May 2). Our earlier Venue Takeover guide covered Seraphel's Wingkeeper Rod — here are the two we hadn't detailed yet.

The Reaper NPC inside the Underground Music Venue gives this questline:

  • Quest: The Reaper sends you to deliver parts to three different ghosts scattered through the venue
  • Reward: SOULREAPER Rod
  • Rod passive: Can trigger extra catches and paranormal mutations on your catches

This is the fastest of the three rod questlines — no specific rare-fish catches required, just locating the three ghosts and completing the delivery. Do this one first.

Access reminder: Enter a Vertigo → navigate to Crystal Cove in The Depths → place a Chaotic Enchant Relic on the pedestal → drop through the trapdoor.

Acidgrinder Rod — Axel NPC Quest

The Acidgrinder rod comes from the Axel NPC inside the Underground Music Venue. It's a 3-step questline:

  1. Catch a Tainted Brine Phantom
  2. Catch a Brined Brine Sovereign
  3. Axel gives you the Locked Acidgrinder — use it to catch an Acidic Caustic Starwyrm, which completes the quest and unlocks the full Acidgrinder Rod

Difficulty-wise this is harder than SOULREAPER (requires specific rare catches) but more achievable than Wingkeeper's 4-step chain. If you're short on time before the Venue Takeover event ends, the priority order is: SOULREAPER → Acidgrinder → Wingkeeper.

FAQ

Is the Venue Takeover still active?

As of May 13, 2026, no official end date has been announced. Treat it as limited-time and prioritize SOULREAPER and Acidgrinder rod quests while it's still available. Check in-game for any closure countdown.

Do the Sovereign Mines have unique fish?

Yes — the Enchanted Crevice inside the mines has a distinct fish population tied to Keeper progression (used to awaken the altar's first pillar). The full bestiary is documented on the Fischipedia wiki's v1.83 page.

Can I run Keeperbound and Venue Takeover simultaneously?

Yes — they're fully independent systems. Keeper Warden quests don't conflict with the venue rod questlines. Work both tracks at the same time.

What's the Chaotic Enchant Relic?

A relic dropped in The Depths zone, required to open the trapdoor into the Underground Music Venue at Crystal Cove. Farm The Depths until one drops — it's rare but not locked behind a specific boss.

Blox Fruits Balance Patch 001: Every Buff, Every Nerf, and the New PvP Meta After the Largest Balance Update Ever (August 11, 2026)

The 2026 Summer Balance Update landed on August 6 and it is officially the largest single balance patch in Blox Fruits history — 39 targets touched across Fruits, Fighting Styles, Swords, Guns, Races, and core Instinct mechanics. Empyrean Kitsune and normal Kitsune both got hit with matching nerfs (Z tap no longer breaks Instinct, X channels on hit). Dark, Dough, Spider, Ghost, Werewolf, Tiger, Sand, Ice, Flame, Fiend, Yeti and Quake all got buffed — some of them massively. Ghost summoned allies can now mirror sword abilities. Pain Last Stand was completely redesigned. Sharkman Karate C now grants temporary health. Instinct dodges regenerate 25 percent faster. Venom Bow got its 1-second Instinct-immune stun. Gun M1s got Aim Assist. This is the full patch-note breakdown, cited straight to the developers own Balance Log, plus the honest post-patch meta read — what to level right now, what to shelve, and where the tier list is actually about to move.
