Fisch Venue Takeover: How to Get the Wingkeeper Rod and Everything New

Last Verified: May 3, 2026. Quest steps sourced from the official Fischipedia wiki and verified community guides. The Wingkeeper Rod is limited-time — complete Seraphel's questline before the next major update.

The Venue Takeover update arrived in Fisch on May 2, 2026 at 12 PM EST. A mysterious group has moved into the Underground Music Venue, bringing a new NPC named Seraphel, a 4-quest chain, and a limited-time developer rod — the Wingkeeper Rod — as the final reward. There's also a free code and a quality-of-life addition that regular players will notice immediately.

Here's everything added in the update, how to reach the venue, and every step of the questline.

What's New in the Venue Takeover Update

The update adds content to an existing location rather than introducing a new biome. Everything new is inside or accessed through the Underground Music Venue:

SeraphelNew NPCStarts the 4-quest chain leading to the Wingkeeper Rod
Mysterious SongstressNew NPCAdditional venue character with unique dialogue
Wingkeeper RodDeveloper Rod (Limited)Questline reward — only available during this event
Equipment BagQoL FeatureManage gear loadouts without opening full inventory

No new fish were added to the biome list with this update. The content is entirely event-layer: questline, rewards, and UI polish.

How to Reach the Underground Music Venue

The venue is a hidden location inside The Depths. You can't reach it from the surface — here are the exact steps:

  1. Enter the Vertigo to reach The Depths
  2. Navigate to Crystal Cove inside The Depths
  3. Place a Chaotic Enchant Relic on the pedestal near the mini bridge
  4. Use the unlocked trapdoor to enter the Underground Music Venue

If you don't have a Chaotic Enchant Relic, you'll need to farm The Depths or the Fisch marketplace before starting. This is the biggest bottleneck for players who aren't deep into late-game progression. Check the Fisch Biome Guide for The Depths entry requirements if you haven't unlocked Vertigo access yet.

Once inside, look for Seraphel to start the questline.

Seraphel's Questline — All 4 Quests

Each quest requires catching a specific fish and returning it to Seraphel. These are not common catches — budget real time and have your best bait stocked before starting.

Quest 1: Heavenly Handfish

DetailInfo
Target FishHeavenly Handfish (Mythical rarity)
LocationMushgrove Swamp
Rod RequiredHeaven's Rod
BaitInsect Bait

Mythical rarity means expect multiple sessions. The swamp has low competition from other players, which helps with spawn rates. Equip the Heaven's Rod — other rods won't give you the pull rate you need here.

Quest 2: Shiny Celestial Flying Fish

DetailInfo
Target FishShiny Celestial Flying Fish
LocationOcean
Rod RequiredCelestial Rod
BaitMinnow Bait
Special RequirementActive Shiny Totem

You must have an active Shiny Totem running or the Shiny variant won't appear. This is the best quest to use a mid-tier totem — save your best ones for Quest 3.

Quest 3: Shiny Blessed Harmonic Dove

DetailInfo
Target FishShiny Blessed Harmonic Dove
LocationAbove the Clouds
Rod RequiredSeraphic Rod or Masterline Rod
BaitWorm Bait
Special RequirementActive Shiny Totem

Above the Clouds is one of Fisch's more demanding locations to reach and fish. Use your best Shiny Totem here — the combination of location rarity and Shiny requirement makes this the hardest quest in the chain. See the Fisch Rod Guide if you need the Seraphic or Masterline Rod.

Quest 4: Shiny or Sparkling Nova Wyvern

DetailInfo
Target FishShiny or Sparkling Nova Wyvern
LocationNova Wyvern's fishing zone

The Sparkling variant counts — if you're struggling to pull the Shiny version, activate a totem and fish until you hit either. Once Quest 4 is handed in, Seraphel rewards you with the Wingkeeper Rod.

The Wingkeeper Rod

The Wingkeeper Rod is a developer-tier rod — the highest tier in Fisch's equipment ladder. Developer rods tied to events are never returned to the game after the event ends.

According to the official Fischipedia wiki, the Wingkeeper fits naturally into setups built around The Depths and Above the Clouds fishing spots — the same locations used in the questline itself.

⚠️ No official end date has been announced for the Venue Takeover event. Treat it as ending with the next major Fisch update.

Free Code: VenueTakeover

Redeem this code in the Fisch code redemption screen — it's active now and will expire when the event wraps:

VenueTakeover

Rewards: 1,000 Coins + Giant Driftwood Boat + 5x Golden Tentacles + Random Item

For all currently active Fisch codes, visit the Fisch Codes page.

Equipment Bag — The QoL Addition

The Equipment Bag lets you swap between gear loadouts without opening the full inventory screen. For players running multi-biome sessions in a single sitting — swapping rods, bait, and relics between The Depths, the Ocean, and Above the Clouds — this cuts down the between-cast dead time noticeably.

It's a quiet addition compared to the questline content, but if you fish across multiple zones regularly, you'll use it every session.

FAQ

Q: Is the Wingkeeper Rod permanent once you get it?

A: Yes. Once you complete the questline and receive it, the rod stays in your inventory permanently. It's obtaining it that's limited to the event window.

Q: Do I need to own the Celestial Rod for Quest 2?

A: Yes. Each quest specifies the required rod. You can't substitute a different rod and still pull the target fish reliably. Check the rod progression guide if you need farming routes.

Q: What does the VenueTakeover code give?

A: 1,000 Coins, a Giant Driftwood Boat, 5x Golden Tentacles, and a Random Item. Redeem it now — event codes expire with the update.

Q: Can I use any Shiny Totem for Quests 2 and 3?

A: Yes — any active Shiny Totem qualifies. Use your weaker totems on Quest 2 and your best totem on Quest 3, which has both a rarer fish and a harder fishing location.

Q: What is the Underground Music Venue in Fisch?

A: It's a hidden location inside The Depths, accessible through Crystal Cove via a trapdoor unlocked with a Chaotic Enchant Relic. The venue existed before this update but received its first major content layer with Venue Takeover.

Q: Is there a second questline or more event content coming?

A: ⚠️ Unconfirmed. The Mysterious Songstress NPC has dialogue that hints at more, and community members have posted suggestions of additional content in a follow-up patch. Nothing official as of May 3, 2026.
