Mutation Multipliers

Mutations multiply a brainrot's base income. Unlike traits (which are additive), you can only have one mutation per brainrot. The income formula is:

Final Income = Base Income × (Mutation Multiplier + Trait₁ + Trait₂ + …)

For example, a 65.00M/s brainrot with a Phantom mutation (12×) earns 780.00M/s — before any trait bonuses.

Progression Strategy

Steal a Brainrot progression is straightforward: buy the highest-income brainrot you can afford, fill your base slots, rebirth when requirements are met, repeat. Here is what to prioritize at each stage.

Early Game (Common → Epic)

Buy from the Red Carpet whenever a higher-income brainrot appears. Upgrade Common slots to Rare, then Epic. Don't save excessively — your income is too low for it to matter. Focus on filling all base slots with the best you can afford. The first few rebirths require specific low-tier brainrots (e.g. Trippi Troppi and Boneca Ambalabu, per the wiki's rebirth table).

Mid Game (Legendary → Mythic)

Legendary and Mythic brainrots spawn less frequently, so patience matters. Watch for mutations on your brainrots — even a Gold (1.25×) on a Mythic is a significant boost. Start paying attention to rebirth requirements — some rebirths demand specific Mythic brainrots regardless of income ranking.

Late Game (Brainrot God → Secret)

Brainrot God spawns announce themselves — when you hear the name, buy immediately. Secrets are extremely rare spawns. If a mutation event is active, chase high-multiplier mutations on your best brainrots. Cyber (11×) and Phantom (12×) on a top-tier Brainrot God or Secret can rival brainrots several tiers above. Higher rebirths require Brainrot Gods and eventually Secrets.

Endgame (OG)

OG brainrots are the rarest spawns in the game — per the wiki they can appear on the Red Carpet at an extremely low chance, and Spyder Elephant is instead tied to the Robux shop's resellers. Even the cheapest OG out-earns the best obtainable Secret — Skibidi Toilet (450M/s) beats Dragon Aquanini (375M/s) with no mutation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best brainrot in Steal a Brainrot?+
Spyder Elephant (OG) is the highest-earning brainrot at 1B/s, costing $1T. For most players, the best obtainable brainrot within reach depends on your current progression tier. Dragon Cannelloni (Secret, 250M/s) is the top obtainable Secret, and Tenini Ballini (Brainrot God, 320K/s) leads the obtainable Brainrot Gods.
How do mutations affect brainrot income?+
Mutations multiply a brainrot's base income. Phantom is currently the highest at 12×. The formula is: Final Income = Base Income × (Mutation Multiplier + sum of Trait Multipliers). Traits are additive on top of the mutation.
What are the rarity tiers in Steal a Brainrot?+
There are 8 player-relevant rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Brainrot God, Secret, and OG. Each tier has higher costs and income than the one below it. OG is the rarest and most expensive tier.
How many brainrots are in Steal a Brainrot?+
There are 519 brainrots catalogued on the Fandom wiki as of the last sync. 244 are currently obtainable; the rest are limited, event-exclusive, or removed.
Is income per second the only thing that matters?+
Income/s is the primary stat for progression, but it is not the only consideration. Rarer brainrots with higher income are harder to spawn on the Red Carpet and cost more to purchase. Mutations multiply income but are event-dependent. Rebirth requirements also demand specific brainrots regardless of their income ranking.
Where does this tier list data come from?+
All cost and income-per-second values come from the in-game shop UI, mirrored by Fandom wiki community editors within hours of each patch. This database is auto-synced from stealabrainrot.fandom.com. Trade values are NOT published here — they are demand-driven and change constantly.
What is the best mutation to get?+
Phantom (12×) is the highest-multiplier obtainable mutation, available during the Phantom Event. Permanent mutations that can spawn anytime are Gold (1.25×), Diamond (1.5×), and Rainbow (10×). Rainbow is the best permanent mutation at 10× but has only a 1% base spawn rate.
Should I save for the most expensive brainrot in my tier?+
Generally yes — the most expensive obtainable brainrot in your current rarity tier also has the highest income/s, making it the most efficient long-term investment. However, if a brainrot is required for an upcoming rebirth, prioritize that even if its income is lower.
