Last Verified: October 25, 2026. Quest steps, ability values, skin conditions and the 2.07 balance changes come from the Official Fisch Wiki (fischipedia.org) pages for Version 2.07, Baby Nessie (Companion), Headless Horseman, FischFright 3 and the Nessie fish. The wiki has not described how often the Chapel flickers.

Baby Nessie is the last thing you can earn in FischFright 3. Don't treat it like a side quest. The Headless Horseman's final task wants a Ghoul Nessie, and the only way to catch one is the Ghoul Nessie Ritual: ritual 11 of 11.

Version 2.07 went live on October 24 at 16:00 UTC. It added the Caustic Chapel and brought back the Headless Horseman. He now has a three-part questline, and the companion is at the end of it. The first two parts take an evening. The third one is the whole ritual chain wearing a hat.

The three Headless Horseman quests

QuestTasksReal difficulty
1. The Rescue RunEnter the Chapel, pick up Baby Nessie, carry it outFree
2. Stabilizing The ChapelCatch 5 FischFright-mutated fish in a row during the Chapel's flickerModerate
3. Nessie ExpertiseShow him a Plush Nessie, a Zombie Nessie and a Ghoul NessieEvery ritual in the event

The Horseman starts outside the Chapel in Caustic Hallow, at roughly -15188, 168, -9623. After quest 2 he moves inside, to about -15177, -560, -9591. That second Y value is not a typo. He's well underground.

Quest 2: five in a row

"In a row" is the part that bites. The five mutated catches have to be consecutive, so this is a mutation-chance quest more than a fishing one.

FischFright mutations are Jack-o', Doomed, Grim, Vile and Eldritch. A Jack-o-Moon adds +5% to Jack-o' and +3% each to Doomed, Grim and Vile, on top of 9x Luck. If you have a Jack-o-Moon Ritual unlocked, firing it before you start the streak is the cheapest boost you have: 100 Treats plus its ingredients.

Nobody has pinned down how often the Chapel flickers or how long a flicker lasts. Expect to wait.

Quest 3: the three Nessies

FishHow you get itConditions
Plush Nessie0.4% on a Treat at Trick-or-Treating, 470 Hex Energy at Beatrix's Cauldron, or 0.033% from a Frightful CasketNot caught with a rod
Zombie NessieHaunted Cemetery Ritual (ritual 8), a 10-minute windowJack-o-Moon, Night, Black Licorice
Ghoul NessieGhoul Nessie Ritual (ritual 11), a 5-minute windowJack-o-Moon, Night, Sour Jelly Candy

Plush Nessie: take the guaranteed one

At 0.4% per Treat, you need about 173 Treat rolls for even odds and 500 to get to 86%. The 2.07 cooldown cut (8:00 down to 5:30) helps, but not by enough to make that a plan.

Beatrix gives you one at 470 Hex Energy. You're already pouring ingredients into her cauldron to reach Hex Stage V, which the last three rituals need. Stage V rewards start at 200 energy, and the stage also needs 80% of the FischFright 3 bestiary. Keep feeding past 200 and the Plush Nessie lands on its own.

Zombie Nessie and Ghoul Nessie

Both live in the Haunted Cemetery, and you only get in through a ritual. Zombie Nessie needs four awakened Skeletal Hands. Ghoul Nessie needs all five, plus a completed Omniscient Ritual and Hex Stage V.

Ghoul Nessie is half as common: 0.5 base chance against Zombie's 1, in the Secret chance group, with -95 progress speed and resilience 5. You get five minutes, half of Zombie Nessie's window.

Both are listed as Jack-o-Moon, night only. It's unclear whether that check applies inside the ritual cemetery. If you can line the ritual up with a Jack-o-Moon night, do it, and bring Sour Jelly Candy either way.

The Omniscient Ritual eats Nessies

The Omniscient Ritual (ritual 10) puts a Zombie Nessie and a Plush Nessie into its Jack-o-Lanterns. You need that ritual done before the Ghoul Nessie Ritual opens.

Nobody has confirmed whether ritual ingredients are used up. If they are, you need a second Zombie Nessie and a second Plush Nessie to show the Horseman.

Catch two Zombies in your first cemetery window if you get the chance. The cauldron only gives one Plush Nessie. It isn't in the pool Beatrix rolls from after 750 energy, so keep any you get from a lucky Treat.

2.07 made the hands cheaper

You need Skeletal Hands to move through the rituals, and the Ethereal Rose is now close to free.

Hand itemSource after 2.07
Dark Art SkullGoblin objectives
Ethereal RoseGuaranteed the first time you enter the Phantasmal Realm, plus 15% per captured ghost
Davy's RoseDutchman Merchant, 5,000 Treats
Fable RoseDullahan's quest
Gourdemort's RosePumpkin Pete's quest

Getting into the Phantasmal Realm is easier too. Haunted houses are now guaranteed after at least 16 house refreshes, with a 12-minute cooldown once one triggers. That sits on top of the existing 12% roll every 90 seconds.

Once you're inside, the pools pay out more often: 2.07 doubled the pool chance from 10% to 20%.

The two quest roses each want a Jack-o-Angler, which also needs a Jack-o-Moon. Both quests are walked through in our Fable Rose and Gourdemort's Rose guide. The ritual recipes cover what each of the 11 rituals eats.

Is Baby Nessie worth it?

For the rest of FischFright, yes. Its mutation rolls at level 1 are already bigger than what a Jack-o-Moon adds:

MutationLevel 1Level 10Jack-o-Moon bonus, for comparison
Jack-o'~7.3%~10.5%+5%
Doomed~4.4%~6.3%+3%
Grim~4.4%~6.3%+3%
Vile~4.4%~6.3%+3%
Eldritch~1.4%~2.1%+1%

It also gives up to +25% progress speed. Unlike most speed bonuses, it gets stronger on small fish and high-resilience fish, and weaker on big ones.

Everything is 1.1x at night and 0.9x during the day. Fish at night with it.

The timing is the problem. You get it at the very end of an event that closes on November 9 at 16:00 UTC, and nobody has said what its FischFright mutation rolls do once the event is gone. If you're finishing the chain anyway, grab it. Don't start the chain just for this.

All 12 Baby Nessie skins

Finishing quest 3 gives you three skins straight away: Baby Ghoul Nessie, Baby Plush Nessie and Baby Zombie Nessie.

The rest come from showing the Horseman a specific fish:

SkinShow the HorsemanStill catchable?

Tiny-Baby Nessie / ShinyBaby Nessie (the fish) / ShinyNo, FischFright 2 (2025)

Half the skins are veteran rewards. If you kept a Nessie, Skeletal Nessie or Baby Nessie from the last two Halloweens, this is what they were for. Don't sell them.

The rest of 2.07

  • Trick-or-Treating: cooldown 8:00 down to 5:30. Fish can now inherit traits such as mutations from your equipped rod.
  • Celestial Congregation: luck raised from 1.25x to 2.25x, but it now costs 2 charges instead of 1.
  • Other Astral Anomalies: Abyssal Alignment 1 to 5 charges, Meteoric Outburst and Lunar Eclipse 1 to 2. Enchant Relics now fill one battery charge, not a full battery.
  • Astral Observatory: lenses and batteries left your inventory and moved to the Telescope UI. Private server owners and summoners can override the current anomaly.
  • Lurker of the Loch skins (all four) now go on the Igneous Rupturer instead of the Requiem.
  • Personal Aquarium: four new layouts (Auction House, Music Venue, Skydock, Tranquil), and shelves and tables now hold other furniture.
  • New shop boat (Vampmobile), the Beartrap Bundle, and five shop skins.

If you farm the Observatory, look at Celestial Congregation first. 2.25x for 2 charges is a bigger roll per activation, though slightly worse per charge (1.125x against 1.25x). Abyssal Alignment going to 5 charges hurts.

Redeem ChapelTroubles before Monday

ChapelTroubles gives 250 Treats plus the Dusekkar and Ghostdeeri skins. It needs Level 25 and expires on October 26 at 16:00 UTC. FischFright2026 is still live too. Both are on our Fisch codes page.
