Last Verified: May 23, 2026. Ghoul Update went live May 18, 2026. Quest steps, Blood Flower locations, Reaper Key drop chance, Black Reaper recipe, One Eyed King pity, Ghoul Aura/Outfit/Bloodline stats, and the active code list are sourced from the Sailor Piece Wiki, Beebom, ProGameGuides, Sportskeeda, GGWTB, Roonby, and AllThings. How — all cited at the bottom. Where exact figures diverge between sources or aren't officially documented, that's flagged inline.

Sailor Piece's Ghoul Update dropped on May 18, 2026, and a week in, it's clear this is the deepest endgame loop the game has shipped. A new island gated behind a six-flower scavenger hunt, a fighting style ripped straight from Tokyo Ghoul with a Mastery-locked F move, a damage-stacking outfit that obsoletes Demon Mask, and an entire Mastery progression system that finally rewards the time you've put into your favorite spec. Below is the full path: how to unlock Isolation Island, every Blood Flower location, how to farm Reaper Keys, the full Black Reaper recipe, and every active code as of May 23, 2026.

What the Ghoul Update Actually Adds

If you only read one section, read this one. The Ghoul Update isn't a balance patch — it's a structured endgame chain that takes you through five linked systems, each one gating the next. Here's the high-level shape:

  • Isolation Island — a new endgame zone in Sea 2, gated behind a quest, not a level requirement.
  • Blood Flower Quest — find six hidden flowers across Sea 2 islands to unlock Isolation Island.
  • Black Reaper — a new Tokyo-Ghoul-inspired melee fighting style sold by an NPC on Isolation Island. The recipe is gated behind a title drop, a bloodline roll, and a long material grind.
  • Mastery system — a new global progression layer that gives stat bonuses for kills with your equipped spec. There's a Double Mastery shop product for players who want to accelerate.
  • Ghoul Aura, Ghoul Outfit, One Eyed King title — three new rewards that all drop from the same source: the Black Reaper boss summoned on Isolation Island.

The whole chain pivots on one mob: Black Reaper, an instanced boss you summon with Reaper Keys. Every farming decision in this guide eventually traces back to "how do I run this boss faster?"

Step 1: The Blood Flower Quest (Unlock Isolation Island)

You can't see Isolation Island on the map until you finish this quest. The starting NPC sits on a mountain cliff on the upper section of Starter Island in Sea 2 — you'll need Sea 2 unlocked before any of this is reachable. Once you talk to them, they ask for six Blood Flowers hidden across the sea.

All six locations (verified across multiple guides — Beebom, Pro Game Guides, AllThings. How, Esports.gg):

  1. Starter Island — From the portal, take a left toward the high mountain. The flower is placed behind the mountain, in the middle section.
  2. Bizarre Island — From the portal, head to the far end of the map until you reach the colosseum. Flower sits in that area.
  3. Punch Island — Head toward the island's NPC cluster and find the Tower NPC. The Blood Flower is below the tree behind him, near the shore.
  4. Blue Planet — Find the Spirit Warrior quest NPC. Behind the boss, on the right, there's an elevated section in a mountain cavity. The flower sits there.
  5. World Island — Behind the tree near the Spec Passive NPC, adjacent to the sea.
  6. Slayer Island — Go toward the Sun God boss spawn. From there, head right of the house, through the crack between two mountains. The flower is behind a tree against the mountain wall.

The moment you pick up the sixth flower, the quest auto-completes and Isolation Island unlocks. No follow-up steps, no return-to-NPC — head to the teleporter and you can travel there immediately.

⚠️ Heads-up: Three of these locations (Blue Planet, World Island, Slayer Island) come from the May 10 Huge Update content. If you skipped that update, finish it first — without those islands unlocked you can't physically reach the flowers. Background reading: Sailor Piece Huge Update Guide.

Step 2: Isolation Island & Reaper Key Farm

Once you're on Isolation Island, the next loop is Reaper Keys. Keys drop from Ghoul Member mobs that patrol the island, and they're the resource that lets you summon the Black Reaper boss inside the giant dome structure in the middle of the map.

Per the Beebom and Roonby guides, Ghoul Members have a 0.1% base drop rate on Reaper Keys. That's not a typo — without luck stacking, you're killing roughly a thousand mobs per key. This is why every veteran guide on this update opens with "build for luck."

Boss summon cost scales with difficulty:

  • Easy — 1 Reaper Key
  • Medium — 2 Reaper Keys
  • Hard — 3 Reaper Keys
  • Extreme — 4 Reaper Keys

Higher difficulties roll on the better drop-rate tier of the loot table, but the loot bump generally isn't enough to justify quadrupling your key spend. Roonby's recommendation: farm Easy by default, and only push higher difficulty if you're chasing the F-Move Mastery pity, which requires 25 Medium kills specifically.

Optimal Luck Build for Reaper Key Farming

This is the build Roonby's farming guide recommends (and most community write-ups echo). Every layer stacks multiplicatively:

  • Rune: Radiant Rune (+28% Luck)
  • Passives: Fortune Chosen + Luck V
  • Power / Relic: Subjugator Power + Crystal Luck Relic (+30% Luck)
  • Race / Clan / Bloodline: Archangel race, Devil clan, Ghoul bloodline once you have it
  • Mastery passive luck: up to a combined +96% across Melee, Sword, and Fruit mastery trees

You can drop pieces of this for a damage build once you're done farming — but during the Reaper Key grind, every percentage point matters.

Step 3: One Eyed King Title (Pity 125)

The Black Reaper NPC won't sell you the style unless you're wearing the One Eyed King title. It drops from the Black Reaper boss directly, on any difficulty, but the base rate is extremely low.

Per Sportskeeda's title guide, there's a pity system at 125 boss kills — clear the boss 125 times on any difficulty (dealing at least 10% of its HP each time to count) and the title is guaranteed. That's the floor; you may get a lucky early drop, but plan for the 125 grind so you don't burn out hoping for RNG.

Title stat on equip: +110% Damage. Even after you've used it as the recipe key, it stays one of the strongest title slots in the game — there's no reason to swap it off unless a future update powercreeps it.

Step 4: Roll the Ghoul Bloodline

The Black Reaper recipe also requires Ghoul as your active bloodline. Bloodlines aren't a drop — they're rolled from Bloodline Stones at the Customization Hub, and Ghoul is a Legendary-tier roll, so you may need a lot of stones.

How to farm Bloodline Stones efficiently (per Beebom's bloodline guide):

  • Sea Bosses — 100% guaranteed Bloodline Stone drop on kill. This is the fastest method if your damage is high enough to consistently clear them.
  • Bizarre Island colosseum NPCs — Best non-boss farming spot in Sea 2. Bulk-farm here when boss respawns are gated.

Bloodline rerolls require Ascension V and at least 12,500 experience to unlock — make sure you've hit that gate before stockpiling stones.

Ghoul bloodline stats (Legendary): +37% Damage, +5% Damage Reduction, +22% Luck Multiplier, +12% Melee Damage Multiplier, +45% Max HP. Its passive grants a 20% chance for NPCs to drop an additional item on kill — which compounds beautifully on Isolation Island, where every extra roll on a Ghoul Member is another shot at a Reaper Key.

For deeper bloodline comparison, see our full Sailor Piece Bloodlines page.

Step 5: Buy Black Reaper (Recipe & F-Move Unlock)

With the One Eyed King title equipped and the Ghoul bloodline active, you can finally talk to the Buy Black Reaper NPC on Isolation Island. Here's the full recipe (per the Sailor Piece Wiki):

RequirementAmount
Gems65,000
Black Shard20
Reaper Remnant12
Rinkaku Core5
Ghoul Essence2
One Eyed King TitleEquipped
Ghoul BloodlineActive

All the materials (Black Shard, Reaper Remnant, Rinkaku Core, Ghoul Essence) drop from the Black Reaper boss itself, so the same loop that pity-grinds you the One Eyed King title also stockpiles your recipe materials. By the time you hit the 125-kill pity, you should be close to or over the recipe requirements.

Black Reaper Moveset

The style has the standard M1 + Z, X, C, V, F kit. The wiki lists each move at a high level — exact damage numbers are still being tested by the community, so treat any move-specific damage chart you see elsewhere as preliminary unless it's directly sourced from in-game testing:

  • M1: Fast-chaining basic attacks with strong base damage.
  • Z: Continuous damage with extended duration — your primary DPS button.
  • X: Burst damage, designed to slot into combo strings.
  • C: Longer active duration than Z; used for sustained pressure.
  • V: AoE-style attack for crowd control on multi-enemy fights.
  • F: Locked behind a separate Mastery questline (see below). When unlocked, the F slot itself grants a +30% Damage bonus to Black Reaper.

Unlocking the F Move

Three requirements (per the Sailor Piece Wiki):

  1. Kill the Black Reaper boss 25 times on Medium difficulty specifically. Easy kills don't count for this gate.
  2. Have the Ghoul bloodline equipped (you already need it for the recipe, so this is usually a non-issue).
  3. Reach Mastery level 250 on Black Reaper itself.

The Medium-difficulty requirement is the main reason most farming guides recommend you do some Medium runs even if Easy is your default. Mix in a Medium run every few keys to chip away at the 25-kill counter.

Ghoul Aura — Drop Rates & Luck Build

Ghoul Aura is the headline cosmetic-with-teeth reward from this update. It's a Legendary-rarity aura that grants +15% Damage to the equipped player, putting it among the best damage auras currently in the game.

It drops from the Black Reaper boss with rates normalized (at 100% Luck) of approximately:

  • Easy: 0.050%
  • Medium: 0.065%
  • Hard: 0.080%
  • Extreme: 0.115%

(Roonby's drop-rate breakdown — community-tested, not officially confirmed by the developer. Treat as best-available estimates.)

Even at Extreme, you're looking at thousands of kills on average. The good news: you're already going to be farming this boss for the One Eyed King title and the recipe materials, so the Ghoul Aura is essentially a "while you're here" pickup. Stack the luck build above and don't stop running until pity hits.

Ghoul Outfit — Why It Beats Demon Mask

Ghoul Outfit is the new accessory drop from the Black Reaper boss. It directly powercreeps the Demon Mask that's been the meta accessory slot for months. Side-by-side stat comparison (per the GameStratWiki guide):

StatGhoul OutfitDemon Mask
Defense135%125%
Damage115%102%
Damage Reduction15%15%

Roonby's guide notes that at max enchantment, the Ghoul Outfit climbs to +155% Damage, +185% Defense, and +35% Damage Reduction — a meaningful upgrade if you've been holding onto a maxed-enchant Demon Mask.

Drop source is the same Black Reaper boss. If you're already running for keys and title pity, this slot effectively comes for free.

The New Mastery System

Mastery is a global progression layer the Ghoul Update introduced across all of your specs — not just Black Reaper. Per the GameStratWiki guide, here's how it works:

  • Equip a spec (melee, sword, or fruit) and earn kills with it to gain Mastery levels.
  • Each mastery tree grants permanent stat boosts as you level — including a luck passive that scales up to +96% combined across all three trees at the cap.
  • A Double Mastery shop product accelerates progression. Optional, but worth it if you're targeting the Mastery 250 gate on Black Reaper for the F move.

This is the system's first iteration, so expect tuning passes. The luck contribution alone makes mastery worth pursuing even on specs you don't actively use — the bonus stacks globally.

⚠️ Heads-up on Sailor Piece codes: They expire fast. Most of the above were live as of the May 20 update of Pro Game Guides' tracker — verify in-game before counting on rewards. New codes typically drop in the official Sailor Piece Discord #code-list channel first.

Recommended Order of Operations

If you're starting fresh today, this is the most efficient path:

  1. Redeem all active codes first — bank the Power Shards and Aura Crates before the codes expire.
  2. Hit Ascension V + 12,500 XP if you haven't. You can't reroll bloodlines below this gate.
  3. Farm Bloodline Stones on Bizarre Island colosseum or via Sea Bosses. Reroll until you land Ghoul.
  4. Do the Blood Flower Quest — unlock Isolation Island.
  5. Build full luck (Radiant Rune, Fortune Chosen + Luck V, Subjugator + Crystal Luck Relic, Archangel/Devil/Ghoul).
  6. Farm Reaper Keys on Easy, with Medium runs mixed in — chip the F-Move 25-kill pity in parallel with the One Eyed King 125-kill pity.
  7. Buy Black Reaper the moment you have all materials + the title equipped.
  8. Push Black Reaper Mastery to 250 using the Double Mastery shop product if you don't mind spending.

FAQ

When did the Sailor Piece Ghoul Update release?
May 18, 2026. New codes were added through May 20, and the patch is still considered current as of May 23, 2026.
Do I need Sea 2 to do the Blood Flower Quest?
Yes. All six flowers are on Sea 2 islands (Starter, Bizarre, Punch, Blue Planet, World, Slayer). You also need the May 10 Huge Update content unlocked, since three of the flower locations rely on islands added in that patch.
What's the Reaper Key drop rate?
0.1% base drop chance from Ghoul Member mobs on Isolation Island. Luck stacking is essentially required — see the luck build section.
Which difficulty should I run the Black Reaper boss on?
Easy by default (1 key per run, best key-efficiency). Sprinkle in Medium runs to progress the F-Move pity (25 Medium kills required). Only push Hard or Extreme if you need the slight drop-rate bump and have keys to spare.
How many kills until I'm guaranteed the One Eyed King title?
125 boss kills on any difficulty. You must deal at least 10% of the boss's HP for the kill to count toward pity.
Is the Ghoul Outfit really better than the Demon Mask?
Yes. +10% Defense, +13% Damage, same Damage Reduction at base. At max enchantment it climbs to +155% Damage / +185% Defense / +35% Damage Reduction — a real upgrade, not a sidegrade.
Can I skip the Ghoul bloodline if I don't want Black Reaper?
You can, but you'd be skipping a Legendary bloodline with +37% Damage, +22% Luck, and +45% Max HP. Even outside the Black Reaper recipe, it's one of the strongest bloodline rolls in the game.
Is the F-Move unlock worth the Mastery 250 grind?
F-Move unlock grants +30% Damage to Black Reaper on top of the move itself. If Black Reaper is your main spec, yes. If you're collecting and rotating between styles, you can leave it for later.
Will Sailor Piece codes expire when the next update drops?
Most of them, yes. Sailor Piece codes cycle on a per-update basis — redeem them now rather than later.
